Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.The Northrop Grumman Communications team is looking for a savvy trade show specialist to help further develop our strategic approach for and delivery of global trade shows and customer events. Our newest teammate has a proven track record managing trade shows and events, with a strong focus on delivering an impactful customer experience.
This position preferred to be located near Falls Church, VA, but the qualified candidate must be located near an existing Northrop Grumman facility within the continental United States.

Have direct and current experience working trade shows and have knowledge of the trade show industry, trends, best practices, exhibit design concepts and measurement practices.

Have a deep understanding of the principles of event planning, logistics, budgeting, marketing and execution.

Are comfortable traveling regularly for events, including weekends as needed.

In this job, you will:

Work on a range of events, from local trade shows to large-scale national and international events, that you'll deliver with a high level of quality and professionalism.

Plan and execute trade show and event strategies to highlight Northrop Grumman's technologies and solutions, in alignment with our brand and goals.

Manage all event logistics, including booth design, shipping and printing of materials, promotional items, transportation, and accommodations.

Create, manage and stay within specified budgets for each show, including expenses for venue and footprint, sponsorships, vendors, booth setup and equipment, and other associated costs.

Build and maintain strong, positive relationships. Serve as a partner and trusted advisor to business partners.

Basic Qualifications:
To be effective, you'll have the following qualifications:

Requirement or a level 3 (Principal): Bachelor's degree with at least five (5) years of experience successfully developing and deploying communications and events practices OR Master's degree with at least three (3) years of experience successfully developing and deploying communications and events practices.

Requirement for a level 4 (Sr. Principal): Bachelor's degree with at least eight (8) years of experience successfully developing and deploying communications and events practices OR Master's degree with at least six (6) years of experience successfully developing and deploying communications and events practices.

Stellar project management, trade show management, strategic communications, marketing, public relations, event management.

Experience with virtual/hybrid trade show platforms and emerging event technologies.

Strong relationship building skills; proven track record of building collaborative partnerships to influence direction and drive progress at every level of the organization.

Ability to multitask, adapt and work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Ability to deal with ambiguity and work well under pressure with stakeholders at all levels.

Problem-solving skills to address unexpected challenges that may arise during event planning and execution.

Strategic mindset with experience delivering business results.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Familiar with Customer Relations Management tools such as Salesforce.

Preferred Qualifications:
To excel, ideally, you'll also have the following preferred qualifications:

Management experience preferred within the trade shows and events industry.

Project management, organizational, and communication skills to include tools such as Microsoft Office, Smartsheet.

Experience working within or managing events for a Fortune 500 company.

Have a CMP or CTSM certification.

Successful experience in account management, negotiation, developing and delivering event strategies that deliver ROI; vendor management.

Experience with global customers, communication strategies and events management.

Experience leveraging data to create and execute communications strategies, plans, programs and events.

Knowledge of Northrop Grumman, our solutions and capabilities.

Experience establishing and advancing an organization's brand.

Primary Level Salary Range: $78,700.00 - $136,800.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,100.00 - $170,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
