Job Description
The candidate will perform job duties as a Cyber Dev Ops/Virtualization Engineer. They will be responsible for installing, configuring, managing, and maintaining virtualized systems to ensure data integrity, availability, and security. This also includes researching automation, troubleshooting issues, and mentoring other team members. The selected candidate will promote security, efficiency, and scalability of core services and capabilities. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Support day-to-day lab efforts ensuring that all technologies are operational
Provide expert-level solutions for virtualized and containerized infrastructure
Conduct administration tasks as required including installing, configuring, patching, updating, hardening, remediating, and management of virtualized and containerized infrastructure.
Work with Product Teams in support of secure operating systems, software, applications, networks, hardware, databases, etc.
Enhance delivery systems with Continuous Integration by designing and implementing technical solutions
Basic Qualifications Level 3:
Current DoD Secret Security Clearance
Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (i.e., Security+, etc.)
5 years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 3 years of relevant experience with Masters; 1 year of relevant experience with PhD. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Strong understanding of containerization concepts - building container images, dockerfiles, private registries, ansible builder, docker, podman, containderd, runc
Manage and support various components of the technical infrastructure, including hypervisors, storage, infrastructure solutions, system updating, patching, hardening, and remediating vulnerabilities.
Understanding of Omnissa Horizon VDI solutions
Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, specifically Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Knowledge of Linux KVM Virtualization technologies (OpenShift)
Basic understanding of network concepts when dealing with virtualized and containerized infrastructure
Basic Qualifications Level 4:
Current DoD Secret Security Clearance
Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (i.e., Security+, etc.)
8 years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 6 years of relevant experience with Masters; 4 year of relevant experience with PhD. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
In addition to Level 3 Basic Qualifications:
Strong understanding of on-prem disconnected Kubernetes - Helm, custom deployments, Container Network Interfaces, Container Storage Interfaces, general resources
Knowledge of container security concepts - Pod Security Standards, Pod Security Admission, Pod Security Context, etc.
Experience in a disconnected multi-cluster environment
Preferred Qualifications (Both Level 3 and 4):
RHCSA or RHCSE Certified
CKA/CKS/CKAD Certified
Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Longhorn, Neuvector, certmanager, Metallb, Hashicorp Vault, ZARF, etc.
Experience with Kasm Workspaces
Proficient in any of the following languages: Python, Golang, YAML, Bash, PowerCLI, PowerShell, etc.
* Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
Salary Range: $115,800.00 - $173,800.00Salary Range 2: $144,000.00 - $216,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
