Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking highly motivated Microelectronics Product Engineer to join our team in Linthicum, MD in supporting the standup and maturation of a new microelectronics line within the NGMC division. Located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. Our devices enable numerous Northrop Grumman's ground-based radars, avionic radars, and space systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:
As a Product Engineer, candidate will be responsible for generating & maintaining product backend (test & assembly) trip tickets, track/monitor program metrics (delivery & yield), resolve technical issues, and efforts to drive cost and schedule improvements across a technology sector. Candidate will be working closely with program managers, functional engineering staff (product, test, assembly, design, process, quality), and operations, serving as the engineering POC for any product related technical and production issues. Strong candidates will be expected to demonstrate:

Supporting technology development through detailed analysis.

Contributing to the technical community through publications and teaching events.

Capability and drive to expand functional capacity of teams and organizations.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Microelectronics Product Engineer:

Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or any related STEM degree with 5 years of relevant experience (Masters with 3 years exp, PhD with 1 years exp).

Direct experience in product engineering function in semiconductors.

Experience with Microelectronics assembly and/or Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) manufacturing

Demonstrate application of detailed data analytics techniques.

Capability and drive to expand functional capacity of teams and organizations.

Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of leadership, shop floor employees, and support function employees

US Citizenship required

Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) with SCI clearance

Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Microelectronics Product Engineer:

Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or any related STEM degree with 8 years of relevant experience (Masters with 6 years exp, PhD with 4 years exp).

Direct experience in product engineering function in semiconductors.

Experience with Microelectronics assembly and/or Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) manufacturing

Demonstrate application of detailed data analytics techniques.

Capability and drive to expand functional capacity of teams and organizations.

Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of leadership, shop floor employees, and support function employees

US Citizenship required

Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) with SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting the startup of a new electronics factory

JMP and SPC experience

Experience with Kitting and Factory Logistics

A strong technical background in solid state device physics, digital and RF circuit design and test, and device reliability & qualification.

Primary Level Salary Range: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
