This position, located in Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO., plays a crucial role in our mission to support the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.

Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier globally and regionally. Networks integrate and synchronize autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.
Operate, maintain, and manage Linux-based systems supporting a software development environment. Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the Windows/Linux environment and is responsible for backup and recovery (to include disaster recovery) of system data.
Essential Functions:

Ensure all data is being backed up regularly
Ensure the backup system is functioning correctly, and periodically test the backup system by restoring files
Respond appropriately to any security system/virus incident discovered
Install, configure, monitor, manage, and maintain all Linux-based servers
Create and maintain Linux server documentation
Create and maintain Linux system administration processes and procedures
Install, configure, manage, and maintain Linux server-based applications
Ensure Linux-based systems have the appropriate patches installed, including but not limited to:
Security
Applications
OS

Ensure Linux-based systems are running current versions of antivirus software with current virus definition files
Create, manage, and maintain security groups
Create, manage, and maintain user accounts
Monitor, manage, and maintain storage systems and devices
Create and maintain Windows/Linux server images
Recommend system enhancements, including but not limited to servers, applications, storage, processes, and procedures
Recommend when additional system resources are required or when existing resources should be retired
Ensure all appropriate asset management functions are completed as required
Ensure all Linux servers are configured to comply with all appropriate security policies
All other tasks as assigned by the IT site lead or IT manager
Create, deploy, and maintain Linux desktop and notebook images
Create, deploy, and maintain Linux desktop and notebook distribution packages for software applications
Ensure Linux desktop and notebook computers are configured to comply with all appropriate security policies
Assist the help desk in responding to end users' requests/issues
Basic Qualifications:
Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree in a related discipline and 3 years of experience, or 9 years of related experience instead of a degree may be considered
Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security, etc.) is required to start
Technical skills in the following are required:
Linux system administration
System Security Implementations
Linux shell scripting
Ansible playbook development and management
Security-Enhanced (SE) Linux
Red Hat repository administration

Technical skills supporting a varied and diverse environment, including server setup, deployment, and maintenance
Must know the Linux environment and administration
Must have working knowledge of Agile principles and practices
Understanding of configuration managed Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
Understanding of what IT's role is in Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) and how it can be applied to PaaS
Knowledge of applying containers (Docker) and use of container orchestration (Kubernetes)
Must have experience with Containers
Must be an adept problem solver and ability to work well with team members in a fast-paced environment
Experience with LINUX Products (Red Hat LINUX), use of Atlassian tools such as Confluence and Jira
Understanding of the Agile processes
Preferred Qualifications:

Current and Active in-scope DoD-Issued TS/SCI clearance is highly desired
Knowledge of the following is highly desired:
Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
Multi-Factor Authentication implementation, like IPA and ADFS
OpenShift
OpenStack
VMware ESXI
QAS/VAS
Windows
Active Directory
Backup and Recovery
Containers and Container Orchestration products

Knowledge of Git, Nexus, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence is highly preferred
Understand the concept of PaaS and SaaS
Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, and how it applies to IT and IT products

Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
