Position Overview:
As a Systems Engineer within Advanced Programs, you will be a member of a vibrant team and a primary driver of Research and Development (R&D) solutions. Your responsibilities include researching and identifying solutions to complex, multi-disciplinary problems and communicating your technical approaches and findings effectively. Daily activities include developing prototype solutions to emerging customer challenges, analyzing the performance of newly developed algorithms, and documenting results for customer review. Our team of motivated technical talent works closely with the end user (and each other) to ensure the direct mission applicability of developed products.
The Advanced Programs organization pushes the boundaries of innovation and redefines engineering capabilities. Our team is chartered with providing innovative technologies while developing, designing, and producing optimized product lines across multiple customers and providing a decisive advantage to the warfighter. Advanced Programs is looking for new members to join our rapidly growing technical team as a Principal/Sr Principal Systems Engineer based out of Colorado Springs, CO This role is on-site with no remote option. Relocation assistance is not available.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performance analysis of tracking and state estimation algorithms.
Tool development (Python & Matlab)
Algorithm defect tracking and resolution.
Technical documentation, presentations, and analysis reports as required.
In-depth Analysis of Tracking Algorithms & Performance
Basic Qualifications (Principal Systems Engineer):

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Math or related discipline and 5 years of related experience; 3 years of related experience with a Masters; 1 year of related experience with a PhD.
Active TS/SCI Clearance
Experience developing in Linux environments.
Experience monitoring systems, recycling systems and installing builds
Experience setting up multi-server monitoring, adding ways of monitoring and comparing tracker outputs between multiple strings
Experience providing problem resolution and improvement recommendations with strong time management skills
Data analysis (Population statistics and Trend identification)
Ability to bridge between theoretical concepts and practical implementation, performing associated trade analyses.
Python and Matlab experience
Ability to travel on occasion to Northrop Grumman and customer locations
Basic Qualifications (Sr. Principal Systems Engineer):

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Math or related discipline and 8 years of related experience; 6 years of related experience with a Masters; 4 years of related experience with a PhD
Active TS/SCI Clearance
Experience developing in Linux environments.
Experience monitoring systems, recycling systems and installing builds
Experience setting up multi-server monitoring, adding ways of monitoring and comparing tracker outputs between multiple strings
Experience providing problem resolution and improvement recommendations with strong time management skills
Data analysis (Population statistics and Trend identification)
Ability to bridge between theoretical concepts and practical implementation, performing associated trade analyses.

Ability to travel on occasion to Northrop Grumman and customer locations
Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity working in a constrained cybersecurity environment and in a dev/test/ops lab
Experience working on a military base
Experience with C/C++ software language, development tools, and integrated development environments (IDEs).
Experience working with customers within the Intelligence Community.
Experience with tracking algorithms.
Familiarity working with Atlassian ecosystem tools.
Strong background in applied mathematics: Understanding of numerical optimization and statistical modeling (Stochastic processes); Algorithm design / State estimation
Experience in performance analysis, requirements verification, simulation, validation, and algorithms
Familiarity with Ballistic Missile Defense Systems
Experience in tracking and prediction algorithms
Ground systems experience in mission processing, ground communications, and space operations
Experience in the numerical implementation of motion filters
Familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) sensors and simulations

Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00Salary Range 2: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
