Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives.
C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier globally and regionally. Networks integrate and synchronize autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications Experimentation Laboratory (C2BMC X-Lab) is a very fast-paced and dynamic environment. The X-Lab is responsible for developing and integrating future-capability prototypes for the Missile Defense System, including Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, and other critical leading-edge missile defense technologies. The Software Engineer's primary responsibility is to work as a mid-level member of the X-Lab software development team to develop and test innovative solutions in support of X-Lab projects and experiments.
Essential Functions:
This position is located full-time on-site at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC) located on Schriever SFB, CO, and is not a remote work position
Non-standard work hours are likely during event execution
Good communication skills (written and oral) and the ability to clearly and effectively present technical approaches and findings
Must possess an understanding of software development processes and principles, and be able to communicate the desired capabilities to developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and system users
Adapt to changing requirements and design challenges that require novel solutions, fast-paced activities, and tight deadlines
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years of related experience, or 1 years of related experience with a PhD; Or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security, etc.) is required
Must have demonstrable experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment Pipelines
Software development with Java
Experience with Network troubleshooting (netstat and netcat)
Must have experience with the following:

Java Spring framework
Must have experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions in all aspects of the software development life cycle
Preferred Qualifications:
Current and Active in-scope DoD-Issued TS/SCI clearance is highly desired
Ability to refactor code for reusability, readability, and maintainability in an object-oriented codebase
Application deployment, integration, and troubleshooting, Operating systems experience with Windows & Unix/Linux
Familiar with Kubernetes/Helm Charts, and Docker
Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
