What You'll Get to Do:

You will be a member of the SEIT team on an IPT (Segment-Level) within a large Program (System-Level) consisting of multiple IPTs. You will:

Plan and execute requirements management for a major Segment of an extremely complex System across the program lifecycle

Prepare engineering packages for major program milestones / reviews (e.g., SRR, SFR, SDR, PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR, peer reviews, Pre-test reviews, Post Test Reviews, Pre-Ship reviews, Etc.)

Collaborate with engineers responsible for System-level requirements management, ensuring Segment technical baseline satisfies allocated requirements

Support management of risk and opportunity and the production of core requirements-related engineering work products

Collaborate with MBSE Engineers who are:

Performing logical and systematic instantiation of Segment architecture requirements and decomposition (functional, logical, physical) into a total system definition

Generating Segment models that establish linkages and traceability across requirements and verification artifacts.

This position will serve on-site in the greater Baltimore, MD area OR Redondo Beach, CA.
This requisition may be filled as a Principal Systems Engineer (Modeling & Simulation) or Senior Principal Systems Engineer (Modeling & Simulation).
This position is contingent upon acquiring and maintaining a US Government security clearance per customers' requirements.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer (Requirements Management):

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with at least 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master's Degree; OR 1 years with a PhD
Demonstrated experience managing requirements of large-scale systems
Requirements development from decomposition and allocation, to verification
Demonstrated experience with Systems Development Lifecycle with a focus on SRR to CDR
Experience in systems development, integration, and/or test
Experience managing requirements within an iterative and agile environment
Demonstrated experience in applying systems engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices
Excellent written and oral communication skills for technical documentation, presentations, and stakeholder interactions
This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph per customer requirements prior to start

Preferred Qualifications for Principal / Senior Principal Systems Engineer (Requirements Management):

Certificate or advanced degree in Systems Engineering
Risk and Opportunity Management experience
Experience developing engineering content for major systems engineering reviews (e.g. SRR, SFR, SDR, PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR)
Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements
Ability to manage a large database of requirements across systems, subsystems, and lower-level components
Multi-Disciplinary Engineering exposure (Software, Hardware, Electrical) and strong ability to communicate cross functionally
Experience with MBSE and Requirements management tools, such as Cameo and DOORS
Familiarity with Project & Task Management tools: Jira or Confluence
Familiarity with data visualization tools: Tableau
* Familiarity with a specialty discipline, including but not limited to: Embedded SW Engineering, Digital Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical or Thermal Engineering, etc.
Salary Range: $105,400.00 - $165,500.00Salary Range 2: $131,100.00 - $206,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
