What you will get to do:
The Principal Manufacturing Packaging Analyst will develop and guide packaging methods for all types of shipments, including the shipment of classified goods. Provide continued support with Packaging, Shipping, and receiving.

Work with programs to determine requirements needed for a product by understanding contractual obligations, program needs, and customer wants.
Reviewing customer packaging requirements, ensuring the flow down of proper standards.
Must have in-depth knowledge of MIL-STD-2073 and Commercial Packaging Standards.
Responsible for developing and maintaining Packaging Instructions for packers that comply with the customers' requirements specified in the contract.
Stay current with requirements for the shipment of hazardous goods and maintain DOT/IATA required training certifications
Supports Packers with troubleshooting packaging issues and determining appropriate packaging methods for non-production hardware.
Ensure the purchased packaging supplies meet the requirements of the MIL Standards.
Oversee packaging materials inventory to maintain appropriate demand for shipment needs.
Point person for DCMA and Customer Audits that review the packaging instructions and packaging process to ensure compliance with the Customer contract requirement.
Supports programs with BOE efforts for all packaging and shipping proposals.
Work with packaging on marking requirements for the Government and DoD.
Familiar with plywood and the crating process.
Support and champion continuous improvement activities within the department.
** This role is on-site 1st Shift.

Basic Qualifications for Level A3:


Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years with a master's degree with relevant experience. Note: An additional 6 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
One or more years of packaging and/or material handling experience.
Experience with military and commercial packaging standards, including MIL-STD-2073.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:

Department of Transportation (DOT) 49CFR Certified in US Domestic Hazardous Materials, Dangerous Goods by Air, and Radioactive.
Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Demonstrate highly effective interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Leadership experience.

Proficiency in packaging or material handling design compliant with ISPM-15
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
MANUMS
Salary Range: $87,000.00 - $130,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
