This position can be located at our Roy, UT; McLean, Virginia; or Huntsville, AL location.

This role is critical to our company's success, responsible for developing, managing, and providing governance for our comprehensive environmental compliance programs. You will ensure consistent adherence to federal, state, and local regulations across all our facilities. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert who can lead complex, multi-site initiatives, interpret evolving regulations to develop forward-looking strategies, and collaborate effectively with site-level teams, corporate leadership, and external agencies to uphold our commitment to environmental stewardship and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

Program Development & Governance:Develop, implement, and maintain corporate-wide standards, policies, and best practices for environmental compliance in alignment with federal and state regulations.
Provide subject matter expertise and strategic guidance to our network of facilities on complex environmental matters.
Lead the EHS audit program, conducting compliance assessments at various sites and developing corrective action plans to address findings and mitigate risk.

Regulatory Oversight and Support:Air Quality (CAA): Provide expert oversight for air permitting (Title V, NSR) and compliance across multiple facilities. Standardize methodologies for emission inventories and ensure the timely and accurate submittal of compliance certifications and reports.
Water Quality (CWA): Oversee compliance with wastewater and stormwater (NPDES/VPDES) permits across the enterprise. Develop standardized Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) templates and training modules for deployment at the site level.
Waste Management (RCRA): Manage the corporate hazardous waste management program. Serve as a technical resource for waste characterization and oversee the biennial hazardous waste reporting process for all applicable sites.
Emergency Planning (SPCC/EPCRA): Provide governance for SPCC plans and manage the enterprise-wide data aggregation and submission process for annual Tier II and Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reports.

Strategic & Regulatory Interface:Support facilities during significant regulatory inspections and lead interactions with agencies (e.g., EPA, state environmental departments) on matters of enterprise-wide significance.
Actively track proposed and final environmental regulations, analyze their potential impact on the business, and develop strategic plans for compliance.
Advise senior management and legal counsel on environmental risks, compliance status, and strategic EHS initiatives.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline is required.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in environmental compliance, with a demonstrated history of managing programs across multiple sites.
Experience in a corporate or regional EHS role
Regulatory Expertise: Authoritative knowledge and practical application of key environmental regulations including CAA, CWA, RCRA, NPDES, SPCC, and EPCRA across various jurisdictions.
Proven ability to present complex technical and regulatory information clearly to senior leadership, site teams, and agency representatives.
High proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Deep experience with EHS management information systems (EMIS) or other environmental databases is highly desirable.
A strategic thinker with exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
Must be able to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a corporate or regional EHS role
Ability to obtain DoD secret clearance
* Must be self-directed and capable of leading cross-functional teams and managing enterprise-level projects with a high degree of autonomy.
Salary Range: $86,600.00 - $150,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
