Job Duties:
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector (NGMS) is seeking an Agile Product Owner (PO) at the Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer level to support the Advanced Processing Solutions Organization.

The selected Product Owner will oversee the standup of our Generation 3 core software baseline. The Product Owner must successfully interact with customers, program leadership, and peer engineering organizations to understand requirements, use cases, program constraints, and business timelines. The PO will direct a team of engineers to implement and deliver those needs within schedule and cost constraints. The selected PO will develop and maintain planning material including a roadmap of activities for the coming year. The PO will be responsible for status reporting to program management and customers. The Product Owner will provide accurate and timely updates on risks, technical issues, and progress. The selected Product Owner will also interface with architects and systems engineers to ensure technical designs meet customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications at the Principal Level:
  • U.S Citizenship
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, a master's with 3 years, or a PhD and 0 yrs of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related technical fields.
  • Experience with good Agile (Scrum) team execution and principles
  • Experience developing, delivering, and supporting a secure embedded product
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting technical c ontent to customers through both written and verbal means.
Basic Qualifications at the Senior Principal Level
  • U.S Citizenship
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree with 9 years of experience, a master's degree with 7 years of experience or a PhD with 4 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related technical fields.
  • Experience with good Agile (Scrum) team execution and principles
  • Experience developing, delivering, and supporting a secure embedded product
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting technical c ontent to customers through both written and verbal means.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong C/C++ background, Python background, and some knowledge in JAVA, JVM & RMI .
  • Experience with SW tools: Git, Atlassian suite (BitBucket, Confluence, Jira), Jenkins, static & dynamic code analysis (i.e., SonarQube)
  • Applied cryptography and middleware experience (e.g., OpenSSL, TLS)
  • Device Driver development
  • Size and speed optimizing software for embedded platforms.
  • Modifying and integrating open-source software
  • DevOps practices and tools.
This position is contingent on DoD Secret Transfer and the eligibility to obtain a SAP (Program Access) Clearance

Salary Range: $97,500 - $153,600
Salary Range 2: $121,000 - $190,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
