Northrop Grumman is seeking a PC Desktop Technician (help desk) to join our team in Sunnyvale, CA; please note that the candidate selected for this opening will be required to work on-site, full-time, at our Sunnyvale campus.
Job responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair personal computers, related PC software, telephones, cables, and connectors; connect personal computers and terminals to existing data networks; perform basic PC setups.
Instruct and assist users in the use of personal computers and networks; investigate information, network, and communications needs of users, and make recommendations regarding software and hardware purchases.
Provide regular monitoring and security analysis to meet DoD security standards.
Provide backup and recovery services, manage file systems and disk space, and manage virus protection on a routine basis.
Create and maintain user and computer accounts and modify file permissions and security access list.
Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.
Report project status as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts.
Provide technical support for computers and associated networks.
Completes paperwork and other tasks needed to satisfy Security requirements; follow all Security regulations, guidelines, and processes regarding the installation, maintenance, and retirement of PCs and PC-related hardware and software; work with Security to remediate classified data spillage incidents.
Coordinate with users, IT staff, server administrators, network engineers, customers, and IT management.
Review the trouble ticket queue to identify issues that need to be addressed; work through the ticket queue without management direction.
Resolve tickets within established SLAs and raise issues that require management attention or involvement.
Establish and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction according to defined objectives while adhering to established policies.
Maintain hardware inventory and control asset distribution.
Provide hardware break/fix support as needed.
Work.s with system administrators and other staff to resolve support issues, escalating when needed.
Participate in new installations, testing, and special projects as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
Associate's degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or a High School diploma/equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience.
The selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance as a condition of continued employment.
Current Security+ CE certification or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of start date; the required certification must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
Windows experience to include proficiency with Windows OS (Windows 10 and Server 2012/2016 preferred) and Active Directory concepts (including DHCP and DNS).
Experience with server management.
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment.
Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
Ability to work a rotational shift schedule as needed.
Proficiency in Microsoft products such as Windows Desktop OS and Office Product Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or other relevant major.
Active DoD Secret security clearance.
Hardware experience with HPE and Dell Servers, to include firmware patching, hardware upgrades, lights out management experience, troubleshooting, and visualization.
Experience with Certification & Accreditation process.
Basic understanding of Linux OS functionality, commands, and file structures and/or certification for current versions.
SAN Knowledge - Interactions with VMware applications (vSphere objects, Horizon View, etc.), and fiber channel infrastructure concepts.
Ability to perform network analysis.
Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments.
Experience with SCCM.
Experience with routers, switches, IPS/IDS, and firewalls.
Experience with Windows, file, web and remote execution servers, and Terminal Services.
Experience with information security technologies such as event log management, intrusion detection, HIPS, anti-virus, and vulnerability assessments.
Rudimentary scripting experience.
Experience with the creation and deployment of system images in an enterprise environment.
DoD 8570/8140 Certification in a primary OS (Windows, Linux, Cisco).
Ability to design and troubleshoot VPNs.
CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification
Proficiency in remote administration and troubleshooting of desktop PCs, Visio, and/or PowerShell.
Experience with zero and/or thin client devices.
Experience in Active Directory configuring user and computer accounts.
Cross-platform experience (e.g. Windows, Linux, Solaris, OSX, UNIX, etc.).
* Experience supporting VMware VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure).

Salary Range: $59,300.00 - $98,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
