Do you want to be a key Mission Execution lead? If so, we need you to help to build, develop and manage mission engineers. In addition, you will be responsible for identifying NSS resource needs (people, tools, areas, support services) and working with stakeholders to address these needs.

You will be responsible for:
  • Leading a team developing the curriculum for the ground software and operations of a dynamic classified mission within the space security domain of approximately 5 people
  • Be self-directed and able to envision the end state of the product and take initiative to drive product development to closure
  • Educating leads, operators, and officers on mission capability and tactics
  • Own developing and delivering training material to the end user; including the training content, management of staff developing and delivering training, as well as the scheduling of training events with the end user
  • Define the tasks to train the end user in mission planning (MP) and orbital analysis (OA) functions for a space security mission performing dynamic operations in the geosynchronous (GEO) orbital regime
  • Ability to capture core concepts and instructional needs from a large amount of technical data (ground and space hardware) and communicate technical concepts to an audience of non-subject matter experts with varying levels of space domain experience
  • Design a training approach for a growing constellation of heterogenous satellites with maturing automation for commanding & telemetry and mission planning.
  • Develop a training program that aligns with agile software development and delivery, while ensuring operators maintain certifications on the ground system and on-orbit system capabilities
  • Drive and maintain a focus on operator readiness for mission execution, with the ability to adapt the training program to evolving customer and end user requirements. Focus on mission understanding to "train the mission" not "train the tools"
  • Design the training products to include Computer-Based Training (CBT) and advanced simulation training to provide Initial Qualification Training (IQT), Mission Qualification Training (MQT), and tactics development using the ground software
  • Interface and drive engagement directly with the end user to ensure the training program meets the standards defined by Air Force and Space Force guidance
  • Lead adoption of new approaches to legacy instructional training approaches, while ensuring that all instructional and certification requirements are met
  • Maintain weekly engagements with the customer and end user on the status of the training program and own responses to customer actions
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 14+ years of experience or Master's Degree with 12 years experience
  • Must have U.S. Citizenship with active or current TS Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and practices
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in RPO mission design, satellite ground software, distributed modeling & simulation
  • Experience training and leading operational space missions at a mission operations center
  • Experience in scripting languages (e.g. Python, STOL, VBA etc)

Salary Range: $166,500 - $249,700

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
