The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an exceptionally talented and motivated Microelectronics Equipment Technician to join our team.
Microelectronics Space Foundry - located in Manhattan Beach, California where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. Northrop Grumman's Microelectronics semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Indium Phosphide) and providing leading edge technology development in electronics. Our devices enable several Northrop Grumman's ground-based radars, avionic radars, and space systems.
The Microelectronics Equipment Support section is seeking a passionate, dedicated individual to join our team as a lab equipment technician who will be responsible for performing a range of tasks to support our production and R&D labs with any equipment related activities. Candidates will support multiple laboratories within the section including Basic Research, Substrate and various facilities equipment. Candidates should have strong foundational knowledge of a range of materials including composites, chemicals, and adhesives, and be able to perform hands-on builds and testing of materials. Candidates should be capable of evaluating new processes in conformance with engineering specifications, thoroughly documenting processes and results, and generating comprehensive reports. Candidates may also aid in the design of experiments and advise operators and engineers regarding processes, procedures, and lab equipment. Finally, Candidates should have strong verbal and written communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). A Candidate who is solution-oriented, a quick learner, passionate about meeting customer needs, and adaptable will be well-suited for this position.
Responsibilities:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a broad range of front-end and back-end semiconductor equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, vacuum, pneumatic, and basic software/control issues across legacy and custom tools.
Follow cleanroom and ESD protocols.
Partner with process engineers, researchers, and tool owners to rapidly diagnose and resolve equipment problems in a dynamic Production/R&D setting.
Install/remove gas cylinders.
Perform Weely, Monthly and Quarterly PMs on C & D coater/developers, Evaporators, Tegal Etchers, Wet Etch sinks and Matrix Ashers.
Rebuild & replace motors used on C & D coaters and developers.
Sandblast evaporator shielding and emitter parts.
Involves standing, lifting 50 lbs., working with hand tools, and accessing equipment in tight spaces.
Basic Qualification:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 2 years in semiconductor equipment maintenance.
Ability to use a multimeter, vacuum gauge, OAI UV light meter.
Familiarity with safety protocols related to gases, chemicals, and high voltage equipment.
LOTO (Lockout Tagout) Training
Salary Range: $54,400.00 - $90,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
