We are seeking managers with IPT lead and/or CAM experience to lead our growing platform engineering team in support of the MDA business area.
What You'll Get To Do:
This is a dual-role technical manager position including people management and direct program leadership contribution. The split between program and functional duties will be approximately 80% program and 20% functional, on average. The direct program work may include technical work, IPT leadership, or any other appropriate technical contribution.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
Supporting a team of 10-15 technical staff in management role. Administrative management responsibilities include staffing, performance and compensation management, and career development.
Leading program engineering execution for hardware design and deployment projects.
Being responsible and accountable to stakeholders and program managers for labor and material execution through Cost Account Management (CAM) assignments, status updates, issue resolution, and overall engineering execution.
Partnering with program management office to ensure successful execution against cost and schedule targets.
Providing technical leadership to the team and ensuring proper engineering processes and procedures are followed.
Working with peers and training leads to identify critical skill shortfalls, developing appropriate technical training, and improving team performance.
This position requires full time work on site at Northrop Grumman's Baltimore, MD area facilities in Linthicum or Annapolis Junction, MD.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of relevant experience; Master of Science degree in STEM related field with 6+ years of relevant experience; PhD in STEM related field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
Experience in mechanical design, mechanical analysis, or systems engineering including responsibility as an integrated product team (IPT) or technical lead.
Strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skills.
This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. Citizen.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Physics, Engineering, Business Management, Engineering Leadership, or equivalent.
Experience in mechanical design and 3D modeling in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or NX.
Working knowledge of GD&T best practices.
Demonstrated success leading high performance teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader.
Experience with Lean-Agile development for hardware systems.
Experience leading teams in a functional, programmatic, or technical capacity.
Training in Mechanical Design Engineering Risk and Quality Management.

Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $213,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
