Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager Systems Engineering 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position requires full-time on-site work in our San Diego, CA campus.
Reporting to Triton Enterprise Systems Engineering and Integration Team (SEIT) lead, the selected candidate will lead a team of Systems Engineers across SEIT disciplines to perform tasks in support of Triton development programs in various stages of the development cycle. The selected candidate will work with the Enterprise SEIT lead, Triton Development Program Manager, Development Chief Engineer, and other development Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure the overall developed Triton System meets all performance requirements and resolve technical and programmatic issues as they arise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with Triton Development Program Manager, Development Chief Engineer, and interact with various IPTs, Suppliers and Customers to support diverse contract and technical activities within the Triton Development Program Portfolio.
Responsible for the execution of the Systems Engineering Tasks (including performance, schedule, budget, and quality) within the Triton Development Program Portfolio.
Requires leadership skills to plan, organize, communicate, and manage technical activities and to effectively motivate multiple disciplines to work as an integrated team across locations and organizations.
Requires technical experience with anomaly resolution, internal and external technical change/ review coordination, and managing internal and external requirements and baseline control
Requires systems engineering experience with requirements and verification, integration, mission engineering/analysis, as well as general familiarity with system engineering specialty areas, such as cybersecurity, system safety, airworthiness, EMI/EMC, human factors, and modeling and simulation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 9 years of engineering experience, master's degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of engineering experience, or Ph.D. degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of engineering experience
Proficient in Systems Engineering process, Systems Engineering life cycle, and Systems Engineering technical reviews
Must have experience in earned value management system and leading a technical team of 10 EP or greater
Must have experience in technical leadership as IPT/sub-IPT lead or technical/ thread lead in systems engineering, vehicle engineering, avionics, software, electronics, or mission payloads
Proven ability to effectively communicate with Leadership, Customers, Peers, and Team Members
Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI and Special Program Access
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Active DoD Top Secret clearance with current SCI
Experience in Autonomous Systems Programs
Experience in Triton Requirements, system-level/ hardware-in-the-loop integration/test, and/or other development activities
Experience in Specialty Engineering (cybersecurity, system safety, or EMI/EMC, etc.)
Proven change leadership: evidence of championing technical change which resulted in performance improvements and/or team efficiencies
* Advanced degree (Mater's or Ph.D.) in a STEM discipline
Primary Level Salary Range: $187,000.00 - $280,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
