The MS&I Operating Unit delivers industry leading navigation and C4ISR solutions to our Naval and Maritime customers.
At the Charlottesville, VA campus, this role leads a team of quality and mission assurance professionals (5-7) responsible for ensuring quality outcomes at all phases of program execution. This may include:
-Defining and monitoring quality management plans and processes to ensure mission success of programs.
-Performing or assuring quality, compliance, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program deliverables, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. -Assessing program performance and risks and determining resources to ensure mission success.
This role represents QMA to program leadership, internal and external customers. Selected candidate will establish and implement MA strategies and tactics to drive affordability and long-term improvement. They will also interface with the program office to ensure adequate staffing and support.
Roles and Responsibilities

Supporting the OU Directors and their portfolio of Programs to ensure program effectiveness.
Participation and monitoring of the Business Development process (proposals and writing of basis of estimates (BoE).
Interfacing with customers to build trusted relationships and work through challenges.
Directing and coordinating mission assurance functional disciplines,
Functionally managing a team of 5-7 MA professionals across multiple Programs, including training, professional development, staffing, and performance evaluation.
Establishing and maintaining a budget for MA staff to include budget for various certifications and training required, including but not limited to IPC workmanship standards, NASA workmanship standards, NDT, CMMI, CMMC and internal auditing.
Overseeing the proper implementation and execution of Continuous Improvement programs.
Creating effective partnership across all the client leadership teams: Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain as well as the Profit and Loss Organizations.
Setting the strategy to meet customer's expectations, regularly communicating program status. Assuring compliance in quality, risk management, safety, process improvement, subcontractors and supplier quality in accordance with contractual requirements.
Effectively communicate and collaborate with various Site Leadership personnel to identify and mitigate quality concerns.
This position requires a dedication to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills are required.
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree within a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline with a minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in quality, mission assurance, business, supply chain and/or related field; Masters degree and 3+ years of relevant experience in quality, mission assurance, business, supply chain and/or related field--Masters degree in a STEM field if the Bachelors degree is not STEM
Minimum 3 years in a team lead and/or direct management of people position
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
US citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:

Possess an ACTIVE Secret clearance
Five (5)+ years in a leadership position
Experience with Earned Value Management principles
Experience with Systems Engineering practices.
Experience in hardware prototyping and transitioning to a production environment
ISO9001/AS9100 auditing experience and/or auditor training
Experience with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process
Experience supporting QMA proposals
This position may provide relocation assistance. Up to 10% travel may be required.
Salary Range: $101,900.00 - $152,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
