Our San Diego, CA site is currently seeking a Value Stream Leader Role (Manager, Manufacturing Operations 2) to provide leadership and execution support to our Structures team at our San Diego, CA site.
Position Summary:
This VSL Role (Manager, Operations) is responsible for complete operational execution from order through delivery to internal and external customers. This VSL role will report directly to a higher level VSL.
Primary Responsibilities include:
Accountability for meeting or exceeding the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Employee and Cost expectations of internal and external customers across assigned Space/Aircraft programs. Support and drive continuous improvements to support year-over-year SQDEC goals.
Collaboration and coordination with Operations, Engineering, and Business Support Functions to achieve product and site business goals
Talent development thru the performance management process, including individual and team goal setting, coaching and personnel development, and maintain department training requirements and deploy resources according to skill sets
Support VSL's to ensure that equipment and machinery are maintained in accordance with preventative maintenance schedules for assigned areas
Support VSL's provide inputs into customer proposals by providing basis of estimates for labor, risks, and schedule durations.
Support VSL's with design and execution of staffing strategy to meet/balance customer needs and business objectives.
Direct Report Information:
This position requires direct leadership of manufacturing employees. Provides guidance and support to product value stream focused support functions (ME, QE, Planning and Material Control).

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 9 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment. Aerospace experience is a plus.
Leadership experience, demonstrating an ability to lead, build and manage effective cross-functional teams in an aerospace manufacturing environment
Knowledge and experience to develop and execute process standards focused on product area value streams and risk management identification and mitigation
Ability to solve problems and drive continuous improvements
Ability to work flexible schedule, which may include evenings and/or weekends
Ability to obtain a security clearance
* Basic understanding of Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is preferred.
Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
