Are you interested in defining possible? Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a candidate with outstanding leadership skills to fill a Cyber Software Engineering Manager 1 position within the Engineering and Sciences (E&S) organization.
What You'll get to Do:
This position will be located in Chantilly, VA supporting the SIGINT Technology Center (STC) within the Strategic Intelligence & Data Exploitation (SIDE) Operating Unit. The STC is where technology and teamwork come together to meet the unique needs of the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense. The STC is comprised of multiple mission-focused programs with projects ranging from Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) SIGINT payload and data link development to OCONUS/CONUS mission/maintenance support. STC tasks include system design, engineering development, system integration, hands-on build and test, software development, field operations and maintenance, training, and production.
This role requires a strong technical leader who can balance engineering leadership and technical contributions. The qualified candidate will lead a high-performing team providing engineering solutions for multiple mission-focused programs with projects ranging from Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) SIGINT payload and data link development, to OCONUS/CONUS mission/maintenance support. The qualified candidate will also be an individual contributor working approximately 90% in an engineering capacity directly on programs. Management responsibilities include administrative functions such as employee communication, employee engagement, performance management, mentoring and career development, employee rewards and recognition, and resolving personnel issues. Additional technical management responsibilities include employee skills development, strategic hiring, labor forecasting and planning, program technical execution through close collaboration with program and business management, and balancing employee needs with business goals.
This position requires onsite work in the Chantilly facility with the option for flexible work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a technical leader within the organization, guiding system engineering efforts across diverse program.
Manage and develop a team of engineers, fostering innovation and ensuring successful program execution.
Develop software system architectures based on evolving mission needs, emerging technologies, operational environment, and schedule milestones.
Work with stakeholders to design, build, and maintain mission critical systems.
Provide technical oversight of design, development, and integration of software components.
Lead and contribute to the design, development, and fielding of complex system solutions.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to solve challenging technical problems.
Ensure compliance with industry and company standards, requirements, and best practices.
Basic Qualifications:

Must have a bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or an equivalent STEM discipline
Minimum of 5 Years of experience with a bachelor's degree; Minimum of 3 Years with master's degree; Minimum of 1 Years experience with PhD
Willing and able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Experience throughout the entire software development lifecycle; requirements gathering, design, implementation, test, and deployment
Proficient in C/C++ and Java Development
Proficient in Unix/Linux Operating System
Experience scripting (i.e. Python, Bash, etc.)
Experience Low-level debugging
Demonstrated technical and people leadership of diverse and inclusive teams
Experience working in a fast-paced environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously
Demonstrated success working well within a team environment and adapting quickly to change
Time management skills and a proven ability to follow through with commitments
Strong written, oral communication, and organizational skills
Familiarity with Agile methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:

Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
Broad ISR mission area experience
Program management, functional management, and customer management skills
Prior experience leading technical teams or managing individual contributors
Experience developing and communicating software architecture constructs
Experience with deriving software requirements
Experience briefing technical material to customers at milestone events (PDR, CDR, etc.)
Knowledge of modern wireless communication systems
Knowledge of RF system components & functions
Knowledge of hardware and functions of SIGINT/EW systems and workflows
* Hardware integration experience

Salary Range: $129,900.00 - $194,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
