Northrop Grumman is seeking a Contracts Manager 1 to join the qualified and diverse individuals of the Navigation, Targeting and Surveillance Division (NT&S). This role is to supervise a small team of direct reports with responsibility for a diverse portfolio to include development, production, international, and sustainment programs out of Northrop Grumman's Electronic Warfare and Targeting (EW&T) business unit. This position will be hybrid (2-3 days a week in-office) located at Northrop Grumman's Rolling Meadows, IL office.
What You Will Get To Do:
Our Contracts Manager will be responsible for leading, strategizing and conducting proposal preparation, contract negotiations and administration and customer contact activities. You will ensure proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal and customer requirements.
Position general responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Lead a team of professionals in reviewing, negotiating, managing and closing out the contract process
Provide advice and counsel to senior leadership on contractual risks and obligations along with interpreting terms and conditions
Oversee strategy, coordination, pricing, approval, submittal and negotiation of proposals
Partner cross-functionally to bridge contract requirements and program execution
Develop and maintain close customer relationships to meet customer needs while balancing Northrop Grumman objectives
Foster a climate of engagement, collaboration, and growth amongst your direct reports
As a leader with integrity, you ensure ethical conduct, balanced results, and partner satisfaction. You respect and nurture growth, fostering inclusivity. Skilled in building diverse teams and customer trust, you communicate well, champion excellence, and embrace change
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 3+ years of professional experience.
Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree
Experience in drafting and interpreting United States Government and commercial contracts for supplies and services and related or supporting documents, including, but not limited to, non-disclosure agreements, memorandums of agreement/understanding, teaming agreements, and similar documents
Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS government acquisition regulations
Prior experience negotiating and executing a variety of contract types such as Cost Plus, Fixed Price, Fixed Price Incentive Fee, etc.
Experience working with Microsoft 365 applications and Adobe
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with research and development, hardware production, and Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contracts
Experience with international contracting concepts, including Foreign Military Sales, Direct Commercial Sales, and relevant import/export regulations
Prior leadership experience
Ability to travel on occasion to support internal and external meetings (~10%)
NCMA Certification (CPCM, CFCM and/or CCCM)

Salary Range: $102,400.00 - $153,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
