This position is in a production environment and will work a 4/10 1st shift schedule (Mon-Thurs, 10 hours/day).

In this hands-on leadership role, you will be leading a multi-discipline team of engineers in day-to-day technical tasking, as well as personally assessing and dispositioning non-conformances for metallic and composite parts and assemblies as they occur. You will coordinate and communicate the teams' goals, priorities and progress, author detailed engineering direction, as well as collaborate readily with support engineering roles to ensure the integrity of the final product. The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership qualities and effective communication skills to brief senior leadership on team progress and goals
Approximately 15% of the role will be performing functional leadership duties such as staffing, talent retention, timekeeping review, weekly team meetings, bi-weekly 1-on-1 meetings, and performance review preparation and dissemination, as well as other duties support of the VE Liaison Engineering Department Manager.
The remaining time (approx. 85%) will be spent performing engineering tasks including but not limited to:
Providing technical knowledge and leadership to a team of liaison engineers (LEs)
Assessing, managing, and communicating the team's technical priorities and progress to senior leadership to include customer leadership
Establishing and maintaining Material Review Board (MRB) authority in order to autonomously address the rigors of the role
Assess, disposition, and buy off non-conformance tags as they arise in the production environment
Coordinating dispositioned repairs, as appropriate, with support roles in the organization
Coordinating and/or assisting with the creation and satisfactorily resolution of RCCA's

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in a related Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline AND 9 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master of Science degree in a related STEM discipline AND 7 years of related engineering experience
Experience with the Material Review Board (MRB) process
Experience with CATIA V5, NX, Visualization Pro, Teamcenter, MES, or other CAD programs
Experience with the manufacture and repair of composite structures
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into continuous evaluation)
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
Experience briefing senior leadership on team progress and goals
Experience in a leadership and/or management role
Experience interfacing with a military customer
Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment
Experience with aircraft structures design
Experience with aircraft subsystem design
Previous MRB/LE Authority for Engineering
* Experience with the conceptual operation, and troubleshooting of, typical aircraft subsystems

Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
