Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Machinist 2/Machinist 3 . This position will be supporting our Beavercreek, OH and Kettering, OH facilities and requires onsite presence due to the nature of the role. We are a world-class manufacturer of composite structures, radomes, and antenna systems for military applications.

The role will be responsible for setting up and operating 3 and 5 Axis Milling Machines. This is a great opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist who desires exciting and challenging work to join our team!

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Align and fasten work using standard fixtures and established methods.
  • Use a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
  • Program and edit G-Code and conversational.
  • Implement lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement.
The ideal candidate will be able to work under minimal supervision, be a quick learner, and a team player. He / She will have high integrity and understand the importance of escalating errors to their supervisor immediately.

*This position requires the ability to work a WEEKEND DAY shift schedule from 6:00am - 6:30pm Friday - Sunday. Shift differential will be paid during eligible times.

This role can be filled at a Machinist 2 or Machinist 3 depending on the qualifications below

Basic Qualifications for a Machinist 2:
  • High school diploma or equivalent/GED and 2 years of additional education and/or related experience
  • Must be able to pass a New Hire Physical prior to start
  • Must be able to pass an Eye Exam prior to start
  • Experience running machines and setup
  • Experience on 3 Axis CNC machines
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience with 5 Axis CNC vertical machining centers.
  • Active Secret DoD Security Clearance
  • Associates degree or Trade School certification
  • Experience with composite, honeycomb, and aluminum materials

Salary Range: $44,200 - $73,600
Salary Range 2: $52,500 - $87,500

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
