The ideal candidate will possess a commercial software development mindset balanced with traditional defense industry program execution. They will have knowledge of and success implementing modern, innovative software development practices. This role requires a visionary leader who can foster a culture of collaboration, agility, and continuous improvement while aligning with sector and company goals to successfully deliver high quality software to our customers.

Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the product center and programs that align with the company's vision and market demands.

Innovation Management: Drive innovation in software development by adopting agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and modern development tools. Look towards delivering complete products that incorporate modern software with hardware in rapid development. Ensure the proper modeling, simulation and analysis is completed for the product to meet the customer CONOPs.
Software Product Line Management: Apply commercial software principles to identify, create, and manage competitive software products that provide a competitive advantage to Northrop Grumman for our customer base.
Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary technical talent and product managers, and support staff to deliver innovative product solutions. Create a reputation for having top performing talent in these areas.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including divisions, engineering, strategy, and executive leadership, to ensure alignment and integration of software initiatives with broader operational goals. Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs, ensuring that software solutions align with both current requirements and future trends.
Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of the product center and implement improvements as needed. This should include cost account management and cost efficiency measures.
Risk Management and Compliance: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with projects, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and industry standards.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in STEM with 10 years of related experience.
Active Secret with the ability to obtain and maintain SAP
5+ years of formal leadership experience.
Experience with agile methodologies, DevOps, software lifecycle management, software product line management, and modern software development frameworks.
Experience in software and hardware development for products and mission engineering, preferably in the defense, aerospace, or technology industries.
Experience leading large-scale software projects from conception to delivery.
Strong understanding of both traditional defense contracting processes and commercial software development practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial technology firms, specifically in developing products for defense and/or commercial applications.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization.
Familiarity with government contracting and compliance regulations is a plus.
Knowledge and experience with the Defense System sector programs and captures preferred
Active Top-Secret clearance
Master's degree preferred
Primary Level Salary Range: $203,000.00 - $352,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
