Northrop Grumman Defense systems is currently seeking a Human Resources Assistant 3 to join our Weapon Systems - Armament Systems team in Radford, VA.
This role performs a variety of general personnel/clerical tasks in such areas as employee records, benefits, education/training, employment, compensation, and equal employment opportunity. Maintains both manual and automated personnel records, collects and compiles sensitive and confidential personnel statistics and prepares reports. In accordance with procedures, furnishes information to authorized persons and/or agencies. Provides information to all levels of employees regarding personnel policies and procedures.
Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information and job history.
Labor Relations: Provide labor relations support as needed.
Recruitment Support: Assisting with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening applications, and scheduling interviews.
Onboarding: Supporting the onboarding of new employees, which may include preparing paperwork, coordinating orientation, and providing necessary resources.
Data Management: Maintaining and updating HR databases, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Administrative Tasks: Providing general administrative support, such as answering phone calls, managing schedules, and organizing files.
Essential Skills
Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate records.
Attention to Detail: Accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, and external parties.
Confidentiality: Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in using HR software and other computer applications.
Job Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and 4 plus years additional education and/or related experience.
Understanding and application of HR principles, concepts, policies and practices.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence others.
Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Proven ability to support cross-functional projects to completion including organizing, planning, scheduling, and following up on project related items.
US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
PHR or SPHR certification
Labor Union experience.
Salary Range: $43,100.00 - $71,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
