What You'll Get To Do:
The Field Technician 4 will perform a wide variety of tasks supporting the design, fabrication, prototyping, testing, integrations, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of specialty marine and engineering systems. There are additional opportunities for the candidate to deploy at sea several times per year to provide equipment support.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Perform daily fabrication tasks on a wide variety of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems utilizing equipment such as manual mills, manual lathes, saws, grinders, drills, shears, and other fabrication equipment.
Perform testing of systems using applicable test benches, meters, gauges, dynamometers, and other tools as applicable.
Performs hands-on troubleshooting and corrective maintenance, to include fault isolation
Write documentation for production and maintenance procedures.
The employee may be asked to work other than regular working hours (may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays while on travel).
Maintains effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
Basic Qualifications for Field Technician 4:
HS Diploma and a minimum of 6 years related experience in a fabrication environment. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Must have a current/active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI eligibility. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance for continued employment.
Must be able to perform physically demanding work, to include working in tight, restricted access spaces; must be able to climb 20 ft ladders and stand for long periods of time; must be able to lift 50 lbs to waist level.
Must have the ability to interpret technical data, schematics, blueprints, and Standard operating procedures (SOPs) materials.
Must be able to pass basic DOT physical exam to obtain forklift and Category III crane license and pass proficiency tests
Must be able to pass the required physical and fit check for respirator qualification.
Must be willing to travel at least 10% as needed. (CONUS or OCONUS)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a respective trade with experience in operating and maintaining equipment in a marine environment.
Effective verbal and written communication.
Experience with welding to include TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), ARC (SMAW)
Active Top Secret Clearance with current SCI eligibility
Experience with CNC machining
Licensed Forklift Operator
Desire to deploy with customer on a rotational basis
Salary Range: $76,800.00 - $128,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
