Job Description:
We have an immediate opportunity for an F-35 Modification Technical Lead based at Cherry Point, North Carolina. In this position, you will plan, coordinate, direct, and/or perform engineering assignments involving specifications for, and design changes or alterations to, aircraft, engines, systems, components, and field or shop equipment; investigate and analyze project requirements and operating problems and develop recommended solutions to meet company governmental safety and performance standards including Minimum Equipment List (MEL); evaluate, select, apply, and/or adapt engineering modifications; designs or recommend new or modified parts and components; analyze reparability of parts and components; evaluate operating data on parts, components, and systems to establish causes and to determine remedies for wear, malfunctions, or premature removals; analyze and evaluate aircraft and associated equipment proposals; prepare technical data, procedures, reports, drawings, manuals, and other required publications.
Will be a direct report day-to-day to the Site Manager for Maintenance and Logistics at Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East. Act as the primary technical liaison for all post-delivery Time Compliance Technical Directive (TCTD) modifications at FRC East. Guide the successful implementation of F-35 modification efforts and act as project lead for applicable modification packages. Rally and align all support requirements; engineering, parts/kits, touch labor, tools, etc. with the team. Review and evaluate completion of modification efforts and provides feedback to the team for continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with Customer, Company, and Program procedures relative to the Aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Modifications. Provide complete sight picture to FRC East site leadership for F-35 Post Delivery Modification development, support planning, integration, and implementation. Must be proactive and always utilize sound judgment; diplomatic with the ability to establish and preserve a creditable relationship with all personnel.
Basic Qualifications:
• Must have a high school diploma/GED and 16 years of directly related fighter aircraft work experience. Will consider a bachelor's degree and 12 years of applicable experience; or, 10 years with a master's degree.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience with 5th generation fighter aircraft maintenance, operations and/or modifications environment.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience leading and supporting all aspects of unit and/or depot level aircraft modifications including Contractor Field Team (CFT) support.
• Position requires an active Secret level security clearance.
• Extensive background in Time Compliance Technical Directive (TCTD) implementation.
• Demonstrated project management experience.
• Demonstrated experience in coordinating mod/retrofit actions with diverse team of contractors and end users.
• Candidate must be proficient with researching and interpreting modification engineering drawings and manufacturing/material process specifications etc.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, and Project).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Aircraft depot maintenance or management experience.
• Prior experience working with and consulting US Military service representatives a plus.
• Experience and working knowledge with F-35 sustainment tools; Product Data Manager (PDM), JSF Data Library (JDL), Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS).
• Knowledge and experience with program change/configuration management and associated change boards for processing change requests with retrofit implications.
• Prior military service at multiple levels of maintenance, logistics, and support of fighter aircraft preferred.
Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
