Northrop Grumman is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic 4 based at Cecil Field in Jacksonville, Florida. In this position, you will perform maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, F-18 aircraft equipment, F-18 engines, F-18 components, and systems in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, company, supplier and other directives in support of aircraft modification.
Responsibilities:
Understanding pre / post flight activities and inspections
Perform removal, installation, and inspection functions of fuel cells and assembly, and installation of components such as fuel lines, hardware, and fittings.
Remove fuel cells and components from aircraft, following specific procedures and techniques. Prepare cavity for installation of fuel cells and components.
Performs a variety of operations of aircraft tear-down and build-up to include assembly and disassembly of components, rudders, flaps, stabilizers, and other associated flight controls.
Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc.
Able to setup and use a torque wrench and use common hand tools such as: wrenches, safety wire pliers, etc.
Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Basic Qualifications for Aircraft Mechanic 4:
Have at least 3 years of F/A-18 experience and familiarity with inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, removals, and repairs.
Must have and maintain an active secret DOD clearance
Must have comprehensive written and verbal English communication skills.
Must have the ability to work flexible schedules to accommodate customer maintenance requirements.
Must be able to clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc.
Must be able to perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment.
Will be required to comply with all rules and regulations concerning health and safety, tool control, FOD control, and all training and certification requirements.
This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 50 pounds, working overhead, and accessing small, confined spaces
Must be able to pass a physical/respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirements
Ability to successfully pass vision screen and color blindness tests
Preferred Qualifications for Aircraft Mechanic 4:
U.S. military background
Fighter type aircraft maintenance experience
A&P license
U.S. military background
Salary Range: $66,300.00 - $110,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
