This position is located in Roy, UT, and will provide enabling support for division engineering processes for all business units across SDS.

This is a functional home room (FHR) manager position, involving balancing both the overall functional oversight and management of a multifunctional engineering group of up to 15 engineers while maintaining a technical baseline of performance. The candidate will spend ~20% of their time on functional/organizational support and ~80% of their time on a mix of technical process and governance development work from his/her current or future tasking. As a Functional Manager, you will be required to provide a wide range of people leadership, mentoring activities and fostering a culture that allows employees to learn and grow. You will facilitate and execute the performance management cycle for your direct reports. This includes setting goals, quarterly connection reviews as well as performance evaluations and compensation. This role will also require you to mentor your direct reports in many ways. You will be their first line of contact for things such as career growth, training and certifications funding, stretch assignments, etc.

Essential functions - Technical:
• Process and governance development work may include development/update/improvement of systems engineering, design engineering, test engineering or software engineering processes or other technical functions as needed to meet schedule, leadership and program priorities and goals.
• Developing and publishing auditable engineering processes and governance documents, models and training.
• Coordinate with multiple IPTs/programs, functional technical teams, technical management, change management, risk management, specifications, system engineering, design engineering, test engineering and software engineering processes, procedures, and governance to develop and implement engineering processes, governance, and training across division level and across multiple division programs.
• Support implementation, evaluation and presentation of metrics for programs and division
• Develop process architecture, including modeling, integration processes, tools, and techniques.
• Help to establish conformity of process and governance documentation and the processes by which they are created. Work with mission assurance, tech writers, process modelers, and engineering department managers to achieve that goal.
• Support quality audits (internal and external) and any resultant compliance actions
• Support development of process training.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 6 years of related experience
Active DoD Secret Clearance adjudicated in the last 6 years with ability to obtain SAP.
1+ years of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
1+ years of experience working across multiple engineering disciplines, including Systems, Design, Software and Test
1+ years of experience writing technical documents, processes, procedures and/or training materials.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Advanced degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) field.
2+ years experience leading teams in a functional, programmatic or technical capacity.
Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks
7+ years of experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment
Model Based System Engineering with an understanding of DODAF, UAF or SysML/UML
Active DoD Secret clearance with investigation completed within the last 6 years or in continues evaluation (CE)
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance within 6 years.
Special Access Program (SAP) Clearance
Systems Engineering/CMMI/Agile process and governance development
Experience with complex system development on large programs
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
Demonstrated understanding of model development/management.
Familiarity with Mission Assurance/Quality compliance and auditing
Demonstrated understanding of engineering processes and governance across the development lifecycle, including planning, requirements, baseline control, configuration management, change management, design engineering, risk management, verification and validation, sustainment, and retirement.
Familiarity developing or contributing to process training
Familiarity with Agile methodology
Engineering process training development and support
Proficient in Jira, Confluence, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
