This role, based in Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL, is vital in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not offer relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a vital part of the Missile Defense System. It provides a key operational platform that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, delivering an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It functions as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to improve overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is an essential component of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities.
A Systems Engineer supporting the SE-V Architecture Team will work with more experienced engineers on requirements gathering, use case development, logical architecture modeling, and interface definition. This role may also involve software development, database management, or using Model-Based Systems Engineering tools. A Systems Engineer must be able to collaborate within an experienced team to produce systems engineering deliverables while adhering to the Architecture and Systems Engineering Management Plan (ASEMP) and other relevant processes.

Experience with Microsoft Excel, including development of Pivot Tables, Excel Macros, and Visio
Salary range for Huntsville: $85,400 - $128,000
Salary range for Colorado Springs: $81,300 - $121,900
Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in STEM fields such as Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 2 years of experience; or a Master's degree (preferred) in a STEM-related field with no required work experience; or a PhD in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience
Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
Exposure to Systems Engineering concepts and skills such as:
Requirements engineering
Use case development
Logical architecture modeling
Interface definition

Preferred Qualifications:

Certificate: Completion of Systems Engineering Graduate Certificate Program (Ex, UCSD, Stevens University, MIT, Caltech)
Certification: INCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) Certification
Certification: Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model User (OCSMP - MU)
Training or experience in common programming languages is a plus:
Java
C++
Python, as well as database management, networking, or data communications

Experience with performing systems engineering for DoD Information Systems is desirable
Formal Systems Engineering education is a significant plus
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering Tools is a plus desired

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,300.00 - $128,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
