Located in Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL, this role plays a crucial part in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not include relocation support and requires on-site work with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a vital part of the Missile Defense System. It provides a key operational platform that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, providing an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It functions as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations worldwide and locally, thereby improving overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a critical component of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities.

Essential Functions:
Collaborate with experienced engineers in executing tasks related to:
Requirements engineering, solicitation, and decomposition
Use case development and logical architecture modeling
Interface definition and other assigned tasks
Perform systems engineering tasks in accordance with program standards and processes
Contribute to problem-solving and development of solutions of limited to moderate scope and complexity
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with cross-functional teams effectively
The ability to ask clarifying questions, seek guidance, and proactively enhance knowledge in relevant areas
A results-driven mindset, with a commitment to meeting project milestones and deadlines
Ability to work as part of an experienced team while adhering to established standards and procedures
Experience in cross-functional collaboration, researching technical topics, working independently, and meeting deadlines
Must demonstrate some use and/or application of technical principles, theories, and concepts
Work may be performed under close supervision or general guidance, depending on complexity
Contacts are primarily internal, with occasional interaction with customers
Salary range in Huntsville: $85,400 - $128,000
Salary range in Colorado Springs: $81,300 - $121,900
Basic Qualifications:
Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
A Bachelor's Degree in a STEM Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 2 years of experience; or a Master's degree in a STEM-related field with 0 years of relevant work experience.
Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
Minimum 1 year of professional experience in any aspect of the Systems Engineering (SE) V-Model
Skills in any of the following:
Requirements engineering (solicitation and decomposition)
Use case development
Logical architecture modeling
Interface definition
System test or requirements verification
Preferred Qualifications:
Certificate: Completion of Systems Engineering Graduate Certificate Program (Ex, UCSD, Stevens University, MIT, Caltech)
Certification: INCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) Certification
Certification: Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model User (OCSMP - MU)
• Experience in systems engineering for DoD Information Systems and Missile Defense Systems
• Formal Systems Engineering education provides a significant advantage
• Proficiency in tools such as DOORS, JIRA, CAMEO, and experience in presenting technical material
• Understanding and familiarity with Missile Defense Systems (MDS), including sensors, firing systems, interfaces, and the C2BMC mission

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,300.00 - $128,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
