This position will be part of the Environmental, Safety, Health and Medical (ESHM) team of professionals and will focus on supporting occupational safety, radiation safety, and industrial hygiene programs including regulatory compliance and injury prevention. Interprets, recommends, and complies with environmental, health and safety regulations and/or company policies. Assists in planning for changes in physical facilities to meet new environmental requirements. Finds, evaluates, and prepares contracts for properly licensed hazardous and radioactive waste disposal firms and monitors waste handling. Organizes and equips spill-control teams. Writes and updates environmental and spill-control manuals and procedures. Prepares environmental impact statements and applies for all new permits and renewals. Provides input to federal and state regulators through trade associations and industry groups for the writing and revision of regulations.
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of occupational health and safety or related experience or Master's Degree and 0 years' experience in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or related experience.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to solve complex problems by: actively seeking information and new ideas from a variety of sources; consistently looking for novel ways to solve problems; mastering unfamiliar information, tasks and situations quickly and effectively.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Experience conducting facilities inspections from an EHS&S standpoint to ensure regulatory requirements are met.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in occupational and environmental health, environmental science, or environmental engineering.

Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)

EHS experience in manufacturing

Experience with oversight of third-party consultants/contractors.

Experience with hazardous waste management and shipments.

* Experience with California hazardous waste regulations.

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,300.00 - $121,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
