Northrop Grumman Advanced Weapons has an opening for an Embedded Software Engineering Scrum Master 2 or 3 with an active clearance, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
The selected candidate for this position is required to be on-site in one of the following locations based on preference. Northridge, CA, Linthicum, MD, or Tuscan Az. Salaries ranges are listed specific to location at the bottom. Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.
The engineer reports to the program software product owner and is responsible for leading multiple software teams for development activities.
As an integral part of our multi-discipline engineering team in Advanced Weapons, you will be on the forefront of developing next generation solutions to protect technology for our nation's warfighters. The ideal candidate will be supporting one of our programs for defining and architecting a secured missile weapon system. This position will require close collaboration with team members of other projects within the organization for security architecture designs as well as external partners and customers.
Roles and responsibilities:

Organize and facilitate all Scrum events, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.

Identify and address any obstacles that are hindering the team's progress. Work proactively to remove these impediments, ensuring that the team can focus on their tasks without unnecessary distractions.

Promote the adoption of best practices in software development, including code reviews, test-driven development (TDD), and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).

Contribute individually with embedded software development in C++ for a missile system.

Promote a collaborative environment between different disciplines and organizations resulting in teams that can effectively solve problems as the arise and proactively prevent things from becoming issues.

Basic qualifications for an Embedded Software Engineer (Scrum Master) level (T02):

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 0 years of related engineering experience.

Previous experience working as a Scrum Master in a technical environment.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices, including Scrum or Kanban

Proficiency in using Jira for tracking tickets, helping manage the product backlog, and facilitating Agile workflows.

Proven ability to facilitate Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Experience in embedded real-time software development, with a focus on embedded C++ and VxWorks.

Basic qualifications for a Principal Embedded Software Engineer (Scrum Master) level (T03):

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 0 years of related engineering experience.

Previous experience working as a Scrum Master in a technical environment.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices, including Scrum or Kanban

Proficiency in using Jira for tracking tickets, helping manage the product backlog, and facilitating Agile workflows.

Proven ability to facilitate Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active DoD Secret clearance.

The ability to obtain an SAP clearance.

Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $134,200.00Salary Range 2: $95,300.00 - $165,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
