Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Manager Electronics Engineer 2 - Engineering Architect Lead to join our team in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo), CA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization.
This candidate will be responsible for leading a team of data center architects, drafters, and Subcontract Management Team (SMT) leads, to develop implementation strategy and engineering documentation tracking to fielding visions for upgrading and delivering large data centers. The candidate should be a self-starter with experience in electronics engineering or equivalent technologies familiar working within an Integrated Product Team construct. The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Manage and oversee a team of architects, engineers, drafters, and SMT leads
Provide technical authority for all upgrades and installations
Focal for capturing project statement of work & requirements for upcoming upgrades and installations
Lead team in developing designs and engineering documentation for upcoming upgrades and installations
Lead team in resolving critical issues discovered while upgrading, delivering, or sustaining systems, identify risk/issue/opportunity as required

Future Planning
Support strategic planning for future upgrades and deliveries
Oversee procurement of equipment for future upgrades and deliveries
Provide proposal input for the engineering development aspects of new contracts

Change Request Management
Attend Technical Review Boards (TRB) for visibility into Change Requests (CR)
Support Technical Review Boards (TRB) to include reviewing a approving that are generated by Installation and Builds
Ensure that change requests are incorporated into upgrade planning so that they can be applied to the systems

Cost/Schedule
Establish cost/schedule baseline for the engineering development activities for upcoming upgrades and deliveries
Review weekly nameruns for accuracy, provide cost analysis, and take performance on a weekly basis for engineering development activities
Provide monthly Estimate To Complete (ETC) updates and Estimate At Complete (EAC) adjustments that are needed

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 9 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of related engineering experience
Experience leading cross-functional technical teams
Hands-on experience in electronics engineering, systems engineering and/or aerospace engineering
Proven ability to effectively work across multiple organizations, geographic locations, and levels to form teams, gain internal support, act with speed, and make tough decisions
Experience and knowledge of Project/Program Management processes to include Control Account Management (CAM) Earned Value Management (EVM), Risks - Issues - Opportunities (RIO) processes, project planning and scheduling, staffing, coordination and oversight of technical work effort
Must have an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance. This SAP must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs. (Of note: Additional SAP clearance may be required once in role.)
Preferred Qualifications:

Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Demonstrated success in leading, collaborating, and developing cross functional teams of varying degrees of skill on complex technical projects including some or all aspects of engineering project life cycle
Experience with Agile processes
Experience with Cost Account Management and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
Experience with Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)
Experience using MS Project
Experience with datacenter design and/or hardware/software field installations
Experience with Engineering Drawings
Active DoD 8140 approved IAT Level II (or higher) compliant certification. Examples include: CCNA Security, Security+CE, CCNP, and CISSP.
Familiarity with storage systems and basic networking
Familiarity with Solaris 11 and Oracle OEM
Familiarity Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Windows, Active Directory
Familiarity VMware ESXi, VMware vCenter, and high-availability virtualized infrastructures
Familiarity with IT/documentation tools such as Sphinx, Jinja, YAML, rest
* Familiarity with cloud computing systems
Primary Level Salary Range: $156,500.00 - $234,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
