As the Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and integrating electrical designs for various air vehicle systems and subsystems. Your work will involve integration onto labs, test vehicles, or specialized test equipment. You will engage in design activities related to cable interface assemblies, data acquisition hardware, and sensor systems designed to measure stress, thermal, vibration, and linear/rotational displacement.

Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Draft electrical wiring schematics using advanced drafting tools to ensure precision and clarity.
Design electrical systems that meet project specifications and industry standards.
Integrate system components within a laboratory environment to ensure seamless functionality.
Gather data and develop requirements while interfacing with suppliers to perform electrical design tasks for cable assemblies, circuit breaker panels, junction boxes, and equipment racks.
Serve as a manufacturing liaison during the build process to ensure the highest quality standards are met for your projects.
Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at an Electrical Design Engineer (Level 2 or Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Level 3) level based on the qualifications below.
Electrical Design Engineer (Level 2)
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related professional/military experience.
Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance and Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Demonstrated experience with electrical systems design and/or integration in a laboratory or test environment.
Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Level 3)
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related professional/military experience.
Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance and Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Demonstrated experience with electrical systems design and/or integration in a laboratory or test environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Expert proficiency in interpreting and creating electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
2 years of electrical engineering design experience in the test instrumentation discipline
Knowledge of communications hardware and protocol for Ethernet, serial, 1553
Knowledge of electrical components, power design and considerations
Proven experience leading electrical design projects, including cable assemblies, data acquisition hardware, and sensor integration
Primary Level Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $115,800.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
