The Director will be an integral part of the team providing analytical, planning and execution support for sector strategic planning activities, with a particular focus on strategic assessment and portfolio management, including market, competitive and portfolio analysis, and all phases of mergers / acquisitions / divestitures, strategic partnerships, strategic equity investments, and business case development.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategy, the candidate will support division, sector, and corporate leadership teams with analytical support for strategic planning generally and for the development of long-range portfolio objectives and inorganic strategy. This position will be located in either Linthicum, MD or McLean VA. The successful candidate will:

Conduct market & competitive assessments in support of strategic planning and ensure sector leadership remains informed about important environmental developments
Work with division and sector leadership to design inorganic strategies as part of our proactive investment approach and in support of overarching strategic objectives
Source and evaluate candidates for acquisition, or divestment, aligned with sector strategy and maintain an active pipeline
Support the corporate development team with deal execution including coordinating due diligence activities and assisting with structuring, deal negotiations and integration activities.
Prepare presentations for executive leadership
Support special projects that include market & competitive analyses, strategic analyses and recommendations, business case development, scenario analysis, valuation, and other special projects as needed
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with 12 or more years of experience or master's degree with 10 or more years of experience in business, finance, technical or a related discipline
Ability to collect, analyze and synthesize market, competitive, business and financial insights from multiple sources
Previous strategic planning, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or other relevant work experience
Experience in financial analysis and strategy development
Strong communication (oral and written), problem-solving, excellent attention to detail and great organizational skills
Proficient Microsoft Office skills
US Citizen and an Active DoD Secret Clearance; OR DoE equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:

MBA or other, relevant graduate degree. A technical degree coupled with relevant business education or relevant work experience will also be considered
Specific experience in the aerospace and/or defense industry
Strong analytical, statistical, and critical thinking skills paired with the ability to visualize / communicate in a meaningful manner
Dynamic self-starter with strong attention to detail, strong work ethic, ability to handle multiple priorities, and the ability to function with minimal guidance
Advanced MS PowerPoint and Excel skills

Salary Range: $188,600.00 - $296,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
