As a member of the Armament Systems executive leadership team, the AS Program Excellence Director is responsible for enhancing program performance by leveraging processes, tools, coaching and PM Development resources across the Business Unit. This position will require the selected candidate to span the program excellence arena from digging into complex program execution issues to help drive solutions through developing program excellence strategies applicable to a broad set of program types and complexities. The position will also play a key role in program proposal strategy and will develop and support strategies to scale the business to enable program acceleration of the Business Unit Long Range Strategic Plan.
Primary roles and responsibilities include:
Transform and drive program execution rigor to enable sustainable profitable growth and consistently meet customer and company commitments
Mitigate current and near-term programmatic risk while building long-term program excellence capability and culture.
Develop world class program managers by investing in tools, processes, knowledge, and skill building enabling results driven decision making.
Lead efforts to instill a culture of performance and program execution excellence throughout the Business Unit
Operate as Independent oversight with implementation authority & process accountability.
Partner with the Division Program Excellence team on developing and instilling best practices
Work with programs leadership to develop proposal strategies that will lead to profitable and executable programs
Work with executive and program leadership to develop and execute strategies to accelerate the scaling of our business across our factories, suppliers, and through organizational and staffing strategies
Lead the Armament Systems Program Management Council
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's or higher degree in a related field and minimum of 10 years of program management experience (3 - 5) years in a formal management role
Expertise in program execution, earned value management, change management, risk management, and stakeholder management
Experience managing complex projects / programs across with different customers across multiple phases of the program lifecycle
Experience briefing executives and managing expectations
Demonstrated ability to operate in complex environment and challenging situations
Willingness to travel up to 25% per month.
Able to acquire a Secret Clearance
Must be a US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a member of a senior executive management team
Strong execution track record as a PM on a large complex program
Experience in start up or recovery situations that required review and enhancement of metrics, processes, ops tempo, and decision making tools/products
* Active Secret Clearance or higher
Salary Range: $207,400.00 - $311,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
