This position can be located at above-mentioned company locations in CA, AZ, UT, MD, VA, AL or FL and requires travel up to 20-25% of the time. It reports to the Senior Director, Culture & Engagement for GCR.

Grow and evolve our hyper-local community engagement strategy, ensuring alignment to our enterprise social impact strategy. You'll serve as a crucial link between our enterprise vision and local activation.

Design, launch and manage community engagement programs and initiatives for local deployment by our Community Reps. These programs should support our enterprise strategy and be closely integrated with our culture and well-being efforts.

Partner with the Culture and Well-being managers to create integrated initiatives that support the whole employee and foster connection and purpose. It's critical you plan, design and refine in close coordination to create the best employee experience possible.

Meet regularly with the enterprise Social Impact & Investment team to:


Stay up to date on our enterprise giving and volunteerism strategies

Get updates on our national non-profit and education partners

Share about the work happening in local communities and ensure it's still aligned to our enterprise strategy

Partner on any enterprise-wide giving or volunteerism initiatives

Partner on long-term social impact planning

Serve as primary liaison and advisor to the Community Reps:


Share your knowledge of our enterprise social impact strategy

Help them weave it into their local community engagement plans

Keep them informed on our national non-profit and education partners

Help them amplify those partnerships at a local level where possible

Keep them informed of any enterprise-wide giving or volunteerism initiatives

Help them implement locally

Define local grantmaking and employee volunteerism best practices. Help the Community Reps implement these best practices and harmonize what they do across sites and regions.

Design and maintain scalable toolkits, playbooks and frameworks that Community Reps can use to lead high-impact local initiatives.

Work with the Community Reps to understand how our talent needs, state/local legislative priorities, and business growth opportunities could be positively impacted by community engagement efforts. Communicate this information back to the Social Impact team to help inform Enterprise strategy, and help the Community Reps build engagement plans that support these needs (in partnership with key stakeholders such as Human Resources, Legislative Affairs, Program and Site Leaders).

Manage the Community charitable giving budget.

Coordinate with the National Partnerships Manager to support local communities in time of disaster.

Stay current on best practices in community engagement, corporate social responsibility and employee volunteerism.

Partner with HR, Communications and other key stakeholders to drive alignment across people programs and ensure consistent messaging around culture and values

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Public Affairs, Communications, Corporate Social Responsibility, Business or related.

12+ years of experience in community engagement, corporate social responsibility, volunteerism and/or philanthropy at a large corporation ($5b+ revenue)

Proven experience designing and deploying corporate community engagement programs at scale.

Knowledge of current/innovative grantmaking practices.

Experience supervising and managing large budgets.

Demonstrates critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills

Creative, big-picture thinker who can also plan and execute.

Highly skilled at coaching and influencing people, building relationships and improving collaboration without direct authority. This is not a people leadership role.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven ability to be successful in a highly matrixed role and organization.

Experience bridging community engagement programs to employee culture or well-being initiatives.

Proven ability to create clear, actionable toolkits and guidance for decentralized teams.

Familiarity with enterprise social impact strategies.

Data fluency with experience tracking program metrics and impact reporting.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

* Experience in state/local government affairs or relations.

Salary Range: $112,200.00 - $176,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
