Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an AVSI Flight Systems Engineering Section Manager 2 to direct a systems engineering team within the Flight Systems Department of the Aerospace Vehicle and Systems Integration (AVSI) directorate. This position requires the candidate to be 100% on-site in Manhattan Beach, CA. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

This is a functional home room (FHR) manager position, involving balancing both the overall functional oversight and management of a Systems Engineering group (typically 8-12 engineers) while maintaining a technical baseline of performance on program work. The candidate will spend ~20% of their time on functional/organizational support and ~80% of their time on a mix of technical program work from current or future tasking.
Functional Homeroom Duties
• Provide people leadership for a Systems Engineering organization, to include performance management (including performance reviews), career development, staffing, and merit planning as part of the Strategic Deterrent Systems business unit Functional Homeroom
• Support employee development; employee inclusion, engagement, mentoring and career development; employee training and identification and training of skills required to execute programs
• Provide ownership of and direction of processes used in the functional group
• Support staffing and workload forecast; Recruiting, sourcing, onboarding, and performance management
• Support the Department Manager in requested tasking
