This position will support our Global Supply Chain team. This role can be filled at either level.

100% telecommuting role, which may require limited travel to our local United States locations. Standard work schedule is a 9/80 with every other Friday off!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Sources and procures goods and services of a commodity nature from many suppliers

Initiates Requests for Quotations and Proposals and receives same, analyzing proposed pricing from potential suppliers

In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules

Works with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products required

Identifies opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations

Issues purchase orders

Manages performance of purchase orders, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations

Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities

Ensures that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recorded

Reviews and approves supplier payment as needed

May offer occasional opportunities for travel 10-15% of the time.

Basic Qualifications for Buyer Level 1:

Bachelors Degree with 0 years of experience or a High School diploma/equivalent with 4 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, purchasing, supplier management, finance and/or related professional area.

Experience with using Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

Basic Qualifications for Buyer Level 2:

Bachelors Degree with 2 years of experience or a High School diploma/equivalent with 6 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, purchasing, supplier management, finance and/or related professional area.

Experience with using Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

Salary Range: $50,600.00 - $75,800.00Salary Range 2: $61,000.00 - $91,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
