Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for well qualified Associate Level 1 or Level 2 Modeling & Simulation Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This position requires on site support and will be located in San Diego, CA. The candidate must be within a commutable distance from the work location.
Essential Functions:
• Develop and translate friendly/adversary tactics into mission-level models such as AFSIM
• Performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis
• Participate in Agile project framework
• Model operational environments and perform trade studies via computer simulation

• Perform mission engineering activities to ensure continuity between desired operational capabilities and delivered system performance, through the Systems Engineering "V"
• Solicit input from various stakeholders, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of leadership within the organization
• Develop software to model behavior of systems in real-time and constructive simulations
• Develop, integrate, and use advanced graphical user interfaces and visualization tools
This requisition may be filled at the Associate Level 1 or Level 2 based on requirements listed below.
Basic Qualifications:
Associate Modeling & Simulation Engineer consideration: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university
Level 2 Modeling & Simulation Engineer consideration: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Working knowledge of object-oriented programming languages (C, C++) and scripting languages (Python, MATLAB)
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Current Active Secret or the ability to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Experience in at least one of the following:
Mission Engineering
Mission Data Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination
Friendly/Adversary CONOPs and tactics
Modeling and Simulation of Radars, Missiles, Integrated Air Defense Systems (IADS), Air/Ground/Maritime/Space Platforms
Electronic Warfare (EW), Electronic Attack (EA), Electronic Protection (EP), Electronic Countermeasures
Low Observables (LO)
Radio Frequency (RF)/Infrared (IR)/Electro-Optical (EO)/Acoustic Modeling & Analysis
Computer Networking & Communications
Data Science
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
Experience with System of Systems modeling tools: AFSIM, Suppressor, or Brawler
Familiarity with AGILE, MBSE, and/or system architecture frameworks
Experience with version control tools (Bitbucket, GitHub, or Gitlab, etc.)
Excellent communications skills, including the ability to present and brief technical data to all levels of leadership within the organization
Active Top Secret clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $74,000.00 - $111,000.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
