Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is the core element of the Missile Defense System. It is a critical operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively manage designated networked sensors and weapon systems to accomplish global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that offers an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. C2BMC functions as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to improve performance. Moreover, C2BMC is a vital part of all system ground and flight tests, which verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of the missile defense system.
As an Algorithm and Control Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, integrating, and testing tracking, custody, and firing algorithm solutions, as well as developing and validating complex models and simulations. You will work with a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers to support various contracts and IRADs.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for designing, integrating, testing, and maintaining custody of algorithm solutions for tracking and fire control products
Developing and validating complex models and simulations, such as 6-degree-of-freedom simulations and effects-based simulations
Assessing system performance in complex scenarios and environments, supporting ground and flight test efforts, including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities, and collaborating with internal leadership and external customers to facilitate program reviews and technical interchange meetings
Facilitate root cause analysis sessions to determine root causes and related corrective actions
Assess process and product performance, and collaborate with engineering counterparts on program activities to ensure compliance with contractual requirements
Oversee the product development process, including requirements allocation, architecture, design, development, integration, testing, and acceptance of products and solutions
Ability to analyze data to recognize systemic issues and trends
Prepare reports for senior management
Provide input to the QPM to ensure accurate labor estimates on ECPs and ongoing proposal efforts
Participate in witness integration and testing activities, as well as formal quality assurance testing, as required
Conduct reviews and inspections of program artifacts, deliverables, and associated activities to ensure quality requirements, processes, and standards are met
Self-starter who is detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of self-prioritizing and completing tasks within a fast-paced and demanding environment
Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills working in a diverse environment and across multiple disciplines
Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field such as Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline from an accredited university is preferred, with zero (0) years of experience
Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is necessary to start
Experience in systems analysis and Sabremetrics-like studies focused on trend identification, process improvement, and error reduction
Software Quality Engineering and related discipline processes, including Systems Engineering Methodologies (Model-Based and DoDAF)
Basic understanding of programming languages (such as Java and Python)
Code and peer review experience
Skilled reviewer of technical documentation
Experienced practitioner of root cause analysis
Background in process auditing
An advanced mathematics degree specializing in physics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of creating and delivering briefings and status reports
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification: INCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) Certification
Certification: Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model User (OCSMP - MU)

Salary Range: $67,300.00 - $100,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
