This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and will support the Advanced Programs organization. This position will be responsible for providing conceptual and preliminary design support to the Nuclear Sea Launched Cruise Missile in the areas of design for reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) as well as peculiar support equipment including items such as transportation vehicles.

What you'll get to do:

Provide technical contributions to a growing Advanced Programs team of designers, logisticians, and analysts focused on RAM and support equipment for conceptual and preliminary design and technology maturation for new advanced concepts for future deterrence needs in the areas of cruise missiles and support systems/subsystems such as cyberdefense, security, decision aides, etc.
Contribute to projects in RAM/Support/Sustainment trade studies, architecture development, and system engineering to including RAM design influence to produce credible conceptual and preliminary weapon system designs that meet potential customers' performance, cost, schedule, and risk thresholds while informing them of the surrounding design space for capability considerations, especially capability versus life cycle cost versus technical availability date.
Contribute to identification, assessment, and tracking of RAM/Support/Sustainment technology roadmap and associated existing or developing support system capability gaps to feed technology development and conceptual design process.
Demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business
Operate in an advanced design environment and collaborate across the Division and Suppliers as required to accomplish the team goals
Conceptualize and mature new business for growth of the Division
Transition innovative solutions, technologies, and advanced concepts for US strategic deterrence interests to programs of record for product development and fielding.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

T3 Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience or a PhD and 1 years of related experience.
Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope (< 6years), with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Experience with DoD weapon system support system conceptual and preliminary design, particularly related to design analysis cycles, cost versus capability trade studies, and multi-design discipline integration
Experience with ballistic missile, cruise missile, and/or weapon support system design

T4 Sr. Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a master's degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related experience or a PhD and 4 years of related experience.
Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope (< 6years), with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Experience with DoD weapon system support system conceptual and preliminary design, particularly related to design analysis cycles, cost versus capability trade studies, and multi-design discipline integration
Experience with ballistic missile, cruise missile, and/or weapon support system design
Preferred Qualifications:

Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
Operational experience with Navy Strategic Weapons Facilities.
Experience with Navy Programs
Experience with digital design, model based engineering, and modeling and simulation tools and processes
Experience with nuclear hardened strategic systems
Experience with Directed Trade Studies

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Primary Level Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
