Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an ALPS Associate Manufacturing Engineer or ALPS Manufacturing Engineer for our Affordable Long-term Production and Scaling team focused on Affordability improvement and Production Scaling projects at our Clearfield-Layton, UT site.
This position supports a Monday - Thursday 4x10 schedule.

The selected candidate will provide critical support in a high-volume high-mix production environment, working closely with Operations, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Scheduling and Maintenance. Our goal is to minimize downtime on the production line by troubleshooting, problem solving, and proactively identifying areas of concern. Our engineers work to continuously improve their processes, eliminating process variation and waste while building in quality. Join us in the team effort to meet our production goals!
Responsibilities:

Collaborate within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to develop and implement process improvements as well as support site initiatives.

Work closely with manufacturing personnel in the highly automated production of composite aerospace components.

Author, modify, and audit shop floor electronic work instructions (EWIs).

Perform root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities to permanently eliminate defects.

Troubleshoot production/equipment/program/tooling issues and implementing improvements and solutions.

This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Engineer Manufacturing or Engineer Manufacturing level.
Basic Qualifications for an Associate Engineer Manufacturing
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by August 2026

Be majoring in or having majored in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar STEM degree

Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.

Experience with assembly and composite manufacturing processes

Ability to work on the manufacturing floor

Strong organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills to communicate effectively at all levels of management and to individual contributors

Be completing or has completed their Master's degree from an accredited institution by August 2026 or a completed Bachelors degree and 2 years of related experience.

Be majoring in or having majored in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar STEM degree.

Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.

Ability to work on the manufacturing floor

Preferred Qualifications:

Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher

Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)

EVM certification and/or exposure

BOE experience for proposals and/or initiative projects

Board experience: TCCB, TRB, CB, CRI, AIR, FAST

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint

Prior experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing production schedules and high delivery rates

Siemens NX, CPLM, SAP, and MES experience

Lean Manufacturing experience

Pay Range:

Associate Engineer Manufacturing: $58,200 to $87,200

* Engineer Manufacturing: $70,200 to $105,400
