Director of Data Science - Marketing & Finance

We're seeking a Director of Data Science to lead a team of data scientists dedicated to enhancing our marketing and financial strategies through data-driven insights. This role requires a strong technical foundation in marketing/finance data science, with some experience in management, as this person will be instrumental in shaping our marketing efforts, optimizing budget allocations, and supporting financial decisions with robust analytical models.

What You'll be Doing:

• Leverage marketing performance data to uncover opportunities across various channels and develop recommendations that optimize marketing expenditures, campaign strategies, and user acquisition tactics.
• Construct and deploy marketing attribution models and testing frameworks to accurately assess the performance of various marketing channels and optimize budget distribution.
• Manage the creation and application of machine learning models for customer segmentation, lead scoring, and churn prediction.
• Develop and refine dashboards and reporting tools to monitor key marketing performance indicators (KPIs) and communicate the efficacy of marketing efforts to the leadership team.
• Ensure marketing models and frameworks tie in closely with broader financial forecasts, providing vital data for leadership and investor communications.
• Lead a dedicated team of data scientists in executing the initiatives outlined above, ensuring high-quality analytical support and innovative approaches to problem-solving.
• Work closely with marketing, product, and engineering teams to align on objectives and goals. Simplify complex data analyses into clear, actionable insights for various stakeholders across the organization.
• Continually explore and evaluate emerging marketing technologies and data science methodologies to discover new avenues for improvement and growth.

• At least 8 years of experience in data science, with a proven track record in marketing and financial analytics.
• Previous experience in people management is preferred, but staff-level candidates with strong experience in marketing + finance and an interest in people management will also be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor data scientists, fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation.
• Strong background in statistical modeling, machine learning, predictive analytics, and data visualization. Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar data analysis tools.
• Exceptional ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to think strategically and execute methodically with attention to detail and a focus on end-to-end processes.

• The US base salary range for this full-time position is $217,000 - $294,000
• Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting is based on Noom's estimate as of the date of publication and reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position across all US locations. The actual placement of the candidate within the range is based on factors including but not limited to relevant experience, assessment of functional skills and behavioral competencies, scope, and location. This range is not inclusive of any discretionary bonus or equity package.
