Space Planning Specialist II China - Converse

Responsibilities:

Store Design

  • China store design work, including store design and communicating with the regional sales team.
  • Based on the global retail store design guidelines, integrate and adjust the design format that suits the Greater China market and implement it.
  • Supporting in leading the environment design and fixture/construction material mock-up review.

Construction supervision and acceptance

  • Store construction supervision, including tracking construction progress and communicating with local contractors and accounts.
  • Manage the fixture production planning & inventory management to secure door opening.
  • Manage store fixture supplementary requests related to store activity on time (prototype review, quotation & ordering, delivery, payment execution)

Maintenance

  • Daily store maintenance follows, supporting retail business operations.
  • Manage store maintenance for follow-up action, cost review and process improvement.

Cross-functional communication

  • Effective cross-functional communication, to meet store quality standards, individual store budgets, and market requirements.

Vendor docking

  • Vendor docking, daily order process and store investment analysis.
  • Collaborate with external design agencies, local architects, general contractors, and other suppliers to ensure CONVERSE retail standards.
  • Supporting vendor management in terms of new vendor on board/training, vendor performance review, quality improvement, etc.

Requirements of this role:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial or Environmental Design and minimum of 3-5 years work experience in interior design, preferably in retail design of sportwear apparel and footwear industries.
  • Software skills in CAD, Rhino, Sketchup.
  • Proven exceptional ability to visually communicate retail store design intent through hand sketches or software modelling for ideation, material application, scale/dimensions, spatial layout and zoning, etc.
  • Highly effective communicator team player that can connect between relevant teams including visual merchandising, retail marketing, etc.
  • Knowledge of latest retail design and fixture trends both in China and globally, especially across the sportswear industry.
  • Ability to coordinate with contractors/external vendors including design consultants and fixture manufacturers.
  • A proactive, flexible and resourceful mindset is required for this dynamic environment.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
