WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

This role will belong to the Retail Marketing Japan team and report directly to the Director of Retail Marketing Japan. This role will support Lead, Retail Brand Professional In-line/Specialty by taking tasks that deliver Nike-only retail experiences and services. This role will work closely with the Visual Merchandising & Styling team to sharpen the in-store consumer journey and elevate the in-store retail brand elements. Also, this role will partner with our Japan cross-functional partners across Retail Marketing, Brand Management, Digital Marketing, Nike Direct Stores HQ in Japan, Demand and Supply Management, and Operations teams, and the Asia-Pacific Latin America geography to build more effective and efficient ways to encourage and connect with athletes*. This role's key external partners are outside agencies, suppliers, and vendors.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

In this role, we are looking for someone who delivers inspiration and innovation to make athletes' dreams real. A dreamer, doer, editor, and tastemaker, this person brings skills and passion to a challenging and constantly evolving game. A strategic thinker and idea generator with excellent attention to detail for brands and stores.

  • Minimum 1 - 2 years of experience in retail marketing and/or brand marketing.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (in English and Japanese).
  • High interest or background in sport, youth culture, sneakers, fashion, and streetwear.
  • Project management experience and analytical skills to gather business and consumer insights and apply what is learned.
  • Domestic travel required to visit agency partners and partner stores once per season. International travel might also occur twice yearly, depending on the business situation.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

You will work on building a plan and delivering excellence in execution for "marketing in stores" every season to launch seasonal and non-seasonal stories.

  • Programming seasonal direction for Nike Direct In-line stores each season, 4-5 times yearly, and building a strategic plan and execution for new store openings.
  • Produce in-store signs and graphics every season by managing vendors/stores within budget, working closely with Visual Merchandising & Styling (VMS).
  • You will work alongside Nike Direct's in-line stores and Value stores to execute cross-channel projects and seasonal stories.
  • You will support seasonal and non-seasonal marketing plan development, briefing, and providing input for implementing execution across Japan for the Retail Brand Lead. This includes developing in-store signage for always-on products/collections, promotions, and sale events based on our brand playbook.
  • Success will be measured by an increase in our brand strength, consumer engagement, and Nike Direct In-line business growth.
