WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will play a key role in keeping the EMEA marketplace clean by liquidating excess inventory in an efficient and profitable manner. This role is part of the Geo Liquidation team within Value Marketplace Unit (Nike Direct, B2C), with a close partnership to the Marketplace Partners (B2B). As a strategic thought-partner across the value marketplace to improve strategies, processes, and capabilities through several project-based activities, you'll work closely with many functions, e.g. NVS (Nike Value Stores) Merchandising/Allocation, NDDC (Nike.com) Assortment Planning, Technology, etc.

We are looking for a highly analytical individual, that is structured and conceptually strong, has strong experience with defining business and capability strategies, and with optimizing processes. You'll be based in Nike European Headquarter (Hilversum, Netherlands)

Must have qualifications

  • Experience in analytics and driving data-based business decisions, and a track record in landing analytics tools or projects.
  • Experience with defining strategies & process optimization.
  • Proven ability to manage and influence complex stakeholders at senior and all other levels across different functions to drive effective collaboration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to turn data into insights and insights into stories and actions.

Strong preference

  • Longterm intensive relevant experience in retail & product management
  • Strong understanding of cross-functional (Nike Direct) retail business processes, e.g. Merchandising, Allocation, Assortment Planning, Pricing.
  • Understanding of the agile technology development roles & processes, AI/Machine learning based analytical models (statistics, predictive modeling, optimization).
  • Ability to manage budgets, contracts, and negotiations with vendors.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

You are the master behind crucial strategic capabilities in the excess inventory liquidation ecosystem, such as pricing, cross-channel closeout (i.e. excess inventory) take-rate governance, and exploring new business models, but most importantly, leading the development and roll out of the Life Cycle Engine (LCE) project. LCE is an AI/Machine Learning based tool that helps channel allocation (buying), pricing, store allocation, and digital activation of excess inventory (i.e. off-price products). As the business owner you will define the vision, develop roadmap & (business) processes while managing budget, external vendors, internal change management, and stakeholder management (e.g. EMEA business teams, Global tech team).

Examples of your scope

  • Set the vision of the Life Cycle Engine in the EMEA Value Marketplace.
  • Define and prioritize the business side of the LCE development roadmap, including capabilities and features.
  • Be a core contributor to tactical and operational implementation, connecting business and technology, while partnering with the Technical Product Manager, who drives technical details.
  • Optimize business processes (e.g. buying, pricing, allocation processes, etc.) and find opportunities for simplification and automation enabled by capabilities.
  • Measure and supervise the performance and user engagement of the LCE and related processes over time.
  • Lead the change management of the LCE with user teams to encourage engagement & adoption.
  • Apply business thought-leadership to guide and support the AI/Machine Learning managers in the underlying analytical model design and development (predictive modeling, optimization).
  • Support the agile development process led by the technological product manager.
  • Closely connect with global technology stakeholders to align the roadmap.
  • Communicate progress with the broader cross functional teams & leadership.
  • Manage the project budget, vendor selection, contract (re-)negotiation, and vendor management.
