The Advanced Digital Creation Studio provides a competitive advantage by leveraging the power of modern technologies and services to fuel advanced product creation. We seek to identify and accelerate new digital approaches to acquiring athlete and product data, generating insights, designing innovative products, and leveraging advanced manufacturing methods to create compelling consumer product and services.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a Lead Capture Technician with expertise in athlete and product data capture technologies like motion capture and 3D scanning and the ability to visualize the data in 3D using off-the-shelf processes and pipelines from the Visual Effects (VFX) world. The ideal candidate must have a curious, explorer mindset with the ability to adopt new software development frameworks and learn new capture modalities. As a Lead Capture technician, you'll play a key role in the research and development of advanced digital tools, processes, and experiences that will serve to drive Nike's product creation, manufacturing & advanced innovation strategies forward.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Biomechanics or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
  • 3 years of relevant work experience with mocap and 3D scanners and working with athletes. If you have a body, you're an athlete!
  • Must be social and professional when working with athletes, putting them at ease to get the best out of them
  • Willingness to "get your hands dirty" while also working strategically on projects
  • Ability to switch rapidly between different projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Is forward thinking and passionate about delivering a premium and innovative solution
  • Ability to develop scripts for automation efficiency in Python or other relevant languages
  • Experience with 3D digital file formats, dynamic media, workflows, and software is essential. Experience with markerless mocap, camera systems, and VFX software (Maya, Houdini, MotionBuilder) is a plus.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

  • Provide capture pro services to AIC and capture support for inline partners.
  • Partner on the discovery process for technology research opportunities within ADCS, business partners, and other Innovation teams
  • Explore, productionize, and support capture systems. Partner with engineering to create automated solutions to validate capture data and integrate the capture systems into our technology stack
  • Engage with third-party vendors to ensure existing infrastructure remains up to spec
  • Work in an independent fashion, solve problems, make decisions, and communicate effectively in difficult situations
  • Ability to switch rapidly between different projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Familiarity and experience with any of the following technology areas are a plus:

  • Anthropometry and ergonomics
  • 3D modeling / design / printing
  • 3D apparel design / 3D footwear design
  • Digital simulation and FEA
  • Advanced visualization technologies using rendering and game engines, AR/VR/MR
  • Experience in the visual effects, digital animation, or computer gaming industries
  • Big Data / Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
  • Diverse software architecture and pipelines involving front-end client / back-end Cloud services (Cloud architecture, APIs, JSON, Python, Javascript)
