WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Footwear Product Developer II to be an integral part of our footwear product creation team, who is passionate about Nike and our EMEA consumer.

The ideal candidate needs to be a self-starter, a quick learner, a strong communicator, a team player and exhibit strong leadership skills. As a member of our EMEA Express Lane, we will look for you to display the ability to gain knowledge of European consumer, ensuring our footwear meets their style, performance and comfort needs while also meeting internal costing targets.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As our Footwear Product Developer II in EMEA Express Lane, you will assist in driving product and process excellence within a team environment for your assigned projects. You will engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are managed according to critical dates and completed on time, while meeting design intent, performance goals, costing/profitability and sustainability targets. In addition, you will ensure that your projects are ready for the commercialization process and can ultimately be manufactured. In short, you get to create amazing footwear!

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As a member of the EMEA Express Lane Team, you will work collaboratively with key functional partners throughout the Product Development process. This includes Footwear Material Design and Material Development, Footwear Color and Graphic Design, Product Management, Product Merchandising, Sourcing and Operations, and our overseas partners - both within NIKE and external to NIKE. You will report to the Sr Footwear Development Manager.

You will need to navigate the Nike matrix to ensure that our processes model and match NIKE Footwear Development standard methodologies for product excellence. You are the key point of contact for our overseas partners and ensure that communication during the product development process is clear and accurate.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Minimum of 1 year work experience in a product creation relevant role or similar, Footwear is preferred.
  • Demonstrated Self Starter that is willing to learn and grow.
  • An inclination to tinker, to create prototypes, to explore, learn, and to find ways to improve products through physically altering their state.
  • Basic knowledge of materials, test methods, and properties and application.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify & suggest cost effective solutions.
  • Experience in project management, problem-solving scenarios and applying solutions.
  • Knowledge of Consumer Product or Hardgoods construction concepts, materials, and the product creation life cycle is preferred.
  • Demonstrated base-level understanding of footwear pattern engineering, tooling, and manufacturing process is preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
