WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will lead the footwear value engineering team and report directly to the Senior Director of Footwear Product Engineering. Your role includes partnering and collaborating with various departments, such as Design, Development, Product Creation, Engineering, Finance, Technology, and Costing, at Nike's headquarters & PMOs, and with external factory partners.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
  • A minimum of 9 years directly relevant work experience
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in footwear development, engineering, manufacturing, or costing
  • Knowledge of footwear construction and cost structures.
  • Knowledge of footwear sourcing, processes, and events from product concept to delivery is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic team leadership and implement best practices
  • A pragmatic thinker and creative problem solver who will proactively research and drive collective resolution
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong influencing, motivational and leadership skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity, remain flexible, be results-oriented, and work productively within a matrixed organization
  • Work comfortably in an environment of ambiguity
  • Mentor and help train new or less experienced team members
  • High proficiency using MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel 5-10% of the time

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

As footwear value engineering director, you will lead and inspire footwear value engineering team to optimize footwear product value for consumers by developing and deploying processes and digital tools that enhance visibility, predictability, and insights around cost and value in the product creation process.

You will also lead value engineering team to provide functional guidance and consultation to field of play teams, influence the adoption of value tools and philosophies in product creation to achieve Nike's business and financial goals, and act as a liaison for product creation with Nike's costing ecosystem.
