3D Artist, Pokémon GO

In order to delight our millions of players across the globe, the Pokémon GO team requires motivated and skilled individuals for a continually growing game.

We are currently seeking an entry level 3D Artist to work alongside our team of talented generalists and animators, providing a wide array of art assets for use in our game. Work with cross-functional partners and have a chance to contribute your creative talents to upcoming in game features and live game challenges.   • Create mobile device optimized low-poly 3D models for production use.
  • Create high resolution 3D models for concept art, or for use in marketing campaigns.
  • Generate 3D renderings of different styles, adhering to the project art direction.
  • Use of scripting to automate 3D modeling/shading.
  • Create UI assets, including 2D icons and images for tutorials.
  • Generate concept art and visual effects in Unity.
  • Work closely with Sr. Art Director to achieve desired results.
  • Work under the direction of senior artists who will provide onboarding and training.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members and stakeholders, including regular and reliable attendance and participation in meetings.
  • Required in-office 2 days on Wednesday and Thursday.

Qualifications

  • Possesses 2D/3D generalist skill set, including modeling and rendering.
  • Proficient experience with Maya (or equivalent 3D application).
  • Experience with Unity 3D.
  • Solid understanding of rendering and lighting concepts.
  • Solid artistic skills (drawing or digital painting).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice. 
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with others.

Plus if...

  • Experience with JIRA.
  • BA or equivalent degree in studio art, computer graphics or technical field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience preferred.

The total compensation package for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $90,000 - $100,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

Individual pay within this salary range is determined by work location and additional factors, including assessed job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
